On this date in 1863, a patent was granted for making color photographs. I would explain the process, but it's so negative.

In 1863, a patent was granted for the invention of color photographs. For the kids listening, that was back when people took pictures of things but not with their phones. Makes you wonder what took so long to use it.

John Lee Love of Fall River, MA, patented his "Love Sharpener" or the Pencil Sharpener way, way back in 1897.

Also in 1887, Notre Dame lost its first game to Michigan, 8-0. I thought you'd wanna know.

On this day in 1936, the very first issue of Life magazine hit the newsstands. Finally, an answer to the age-old question, "What is life?"
