Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) Improvement Project



The Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) improvement project in the East Valley will require the following closures or lane restrictions. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes while the following freeway restrictions are in place:



Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) single lane rolling closures will be in effect in both directions between Power and Gilbert roads from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 21) for widening project.



Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) High Occupancy Vehicle lane closed between Power and Gilbert roads from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 22) for widening project.



ADOT works to inform the public about planned freeway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule. To stay up-to-date with the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at www.az511.gov or call 511.




The Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) improvement project is adding one new general travel lane in each direction between Loop 101 and Gilbert Road and one High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane in each direction between Gilbert and Broadway roads.
