Drainage work along I-10 frontage road and Prince Road in Tucson

Traffic restrictions anticipated through August

The westbound Interstate 10 frontage road and eastbound Prince Road have right lane closures around the clock through the end of August for drainage work.

This work involves large equipment on site and construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway.
    • Motorists should not follow trucks into the work zones.
    • Crews and message boards will guide drivers through the work zone.

On Wednesday (April 27) large equipment will be delivered to the work zone area between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m.
    • Brief delays should be anticipated while crews unload the equipment.
    • Motorists should obey the posted speed limit and maintain a safe distance as these vehicles enter the work zone.

The work is to construct a new drainage system at I-10 and the Flowing Wells Wash. It includes installation of two 96-inch steel pipes underneath the Union Pacific railroad tracks and completion of remaining westbound I-10 frontage road improvements.

Drivers should share the road, be cautious and slow down while traveling through the work zone.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned roadway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
