Gwen Stefani Explains How Her Divorce and Blake Shelton Inspired Her New Album. Gwen Stefani isn't letting any problems in her personal life get in the way of her career; in fact, she's doing the opposite. The No Doubt singer didn't want her divorce from Gavin Rossdale to negatively affect her songs, so she used her emotions to help her write a top-selling album. "I think that I just...I can't even find the words," the "Make Me Like You" singer said on Good Morning America Monday. "I felt like, 'Wow, I can't go down. This is not who I am. I'm not going to fail.'" She continued, "I had to make something good out of it. So I tried to write because I know that that was my gift. And I was like, 'I'm going to do this. I'm going to make this into music.'" The result was her latest album This Is What the Truth Feels Like. Although she addresses her split in songs such as "Red Flag" and "Used to Love You," Stefani also writes about her current relationship with country crooner Blake Shelton in "Make Me Like You," which she said Monday morning was one of her "favorite songs to write." "It just came out. It was like, I had been feeling that way," she explained. "Like, it's just exactly what I felt that day...'I miss you right now. Here it is.' You know what I mean? And everybody in the room was just kind of like, 'Whoa, this is happening right now.' It was written fast. Like, 10, 15 minutes." She and Shelton got together after she split from Rossdale and he split from Miranda Lambert. She admitted that her 13-year marriage coming to an end was one of the most difficult moments of her life, having her music as an outlet has helped get her through it. "It feels like I'm supposed to be doing this right now and sharing my story...And I really hope that this record brings pleasure and, I don't know, documents people's, you know, lives in this moment. And I just -- I'm so happy to share it," she said. Stefani told Vanity Fair that she is "for sure" in love again and that the butterflies in her stomach also helped inspire her new album. "I feel like I'm in an amazing songwriting place; instead of being closed off, I'm thinking about positivity and how I can do something creative," she explained. "I'm just doing what I want to do. It's so incredible to be in that zone. I'm always looking for the next song, and now I don't have to be insecure or write about heartache." (Eonline)
Drew Barrymore Speaks Out After Will Kopelman Split. Drew Barrymore was in high spirits at the Pebble Beach Food & Wine Festival. Based on her demeanor, few would assume that she and Will Kopelman had recently split. Less than 24 hours earlier, E! News confirmed that Drew and Will had called it quits after nearly four years of marriage. The exes -- who are parents to daughters Olive, 3, and Frankie, 23 months -- later issued a statement, saying, "Sadly our family is separating legally, although we do not feel this takes away from us being a family. Divorce might make one feel like a failure, but eventually you start to find grace in the idea that life goes on. Our children are our universe, and we look forward to living the rest of our lives with them as the first priority." Drew gave her first post-split interview to PopSugar Saturday to promote Barrymore Wines' new rose. Though she didn't reference Will by name, she hinted at their recent ups and downs. "I had a really hard time a couple of months ago and kind of knew life was heading in a new direction," she recalled. "I called someone that I really trust, respect, and believe in, because he has always been the conductor of grace. I said, 'What's your advice?' And he said, 'You put one foot in front of the other.' I hung up the phone and I thought, 'That is why I call this person.' It's not only succinct, but it's almost physically productive and life-choice productive. It's just great advice. It's a kind of way in which to live, and I want to be like him. I want to be like that. I want to put one foot in front of the other." Similar to what she and Will said in their joint statement, the Miss You Already actress explained that her focus will remain on her two girls. "The only thing I care about, my life's mission and the only thing that matters as of now is that my daughters know what our lives were like, how we lived, and how much I love them," Drew, 41, said. "For them to know that they were not just loved, but, like, ridiculously, utterly, life-alteringly loved. That's the only reason I'm here now!" Olive, in particular, needs that reassurance. Referencing a passage in her memoir, Wildflower, a teary-eyed Drew told PopSugar, "She doesn't want the worry. She needs to know it's going to be OK. It's the only way she will allow herself to be vulnerable...She's mad when something hurts her. She doesn't go to a weak place. Every little girl can only be made to feel safe if they know the parent is solid." (Eonline)
Avril Lavigne Is "Feeling Healthy" While Stepping Out With Chad Kroeger at Juno Awards. Avril Lavigne is stepping out with a special message to her fans. One year after disclosing her battle with Lyme disease for the first time, the singer is letting her admirers know that her health won't prevent her from enjoying a nice evening out on the town. "Good to be back at the Junos Awards," she wrote on Instagram Sunday evening after posing on the red carpet. "Feeling healthy and enjoying the positive vibes here ?#JunoAwards #Canada." While wearing a black dress with neutral-colored heels, the "It's Complicated" singer flashed a giant smile on her face. To top it all off, Nickelback lead singer Chad Kroeger was by her side more than seven months after they announced their separation. "I came with Chad because Nickelback got nominated and I'm just here supporting him," Avril explained to Canada's Etalk. Chad added, "I got tired of walking around with my band members, so I went and found hottie here." This isn't the first time the pair has reunited after announcing their separation. Back in March, the music artists shared pictures working in the studio together. In addition, the musicians made their first joint red carpet appearance in years while attending Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammys party in February. While speculation continues to surround the pair in regards to their relationship status, Avril appears to simply be enjoying Canada with a friend who has experienced her journey for many years. "Throwback to Junos 2003 when @Nickelback presented me with my first Juno," she wrote on social media with a throwback video. (Eonline)
Iggy Azalea is not breaking off her engagement to Nick Young ... not yet, anyway and she wanted everyone to know it at the iHeartRadio Awards. Simon Cowell has revealed what he really thinks about Liam Payne and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's relationship. In an interview with The Sun, he described the new couple as "madly in love". The X Factor boss thinks they make a very "cute" couple, and said: "I saw them together and we had a really nice dinner. They were on good form. They're like two little chipmunks madly in love. Literally, they were so cute." The 56-year-old star insisted he "didn't have a clue" the pair were in a relationship until it was revealed but he couldn't be happier for the pair. He added to The Sun newspaper: "I'm not going to talk about the past." But importantly they both seemed very happy over here and very relaxed. I'm happy for them." So, the big boss approved. In other Cheryl-related news, she has another tattoo! And instead of wearing her heart on her sleeve, she's rocking a heart on her middle finger. She captioned it: "My new baby ink." Madonna's son Rocco Ritchie, who has been at the center of an ugly custody fight, recently branded himself a "son of a bitch" on Instagram, it was reported on Sunday. The insult appeared in the profile-info section of an account that bore the 15-year-old Rocco's name and image and was apparently set up by him, Britain's Daily Mail reported. But the line has since been removed from the private account, and the profile photo has changed. Rocco has been staying with his dad, British filmmaker Guy Ritchie, in England since December, when he ditched his mom's "Rebel Heart" tour in London. He has refused to return to New York, where Madonna had been raising him since her 2008 divorce from Guy. Judges in Manhattan and London have urged an out-of-court custody settlement. Madonna went off on her ex at a concert in Australia last month, calling him a "son of a bitch." (Page Six)
Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge Hospitalized After Four-Wheeler Accident. Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge had a very scary weekend. Tamra confirms that the Real Housewives of Orange County stars were hospitalized after a four-wheeling accident in Glamis, Calif., on Saturday. TMZ was the first to report the story, saying the women were enjoying some fun in the desert while filming for their Bravo reality show. Tamra took a few of the ladies, including Vicki, for a spin in a Polaris RZR four-wheeler when it flipped and rolled several times. Vicki was reportedly airlifted form the accident and taken to a local hospital where she was treated for minor injuries and released Sunday morning. Tamra was also hospitalized and released that night. Both women took to social media to thank friends and fans for their thoughts and prayers. "So many text, tweets and phone calls asking if this is true," Tamra wrote on Facebook. "I can confirm it is. Thank you for your prayers and concerns. We are both beat up but very lucky to be alive. I've never been so scared in my life. As the driver I have an overwhelming amount of guilt and just happy that the 4 of us are alive." Vicki also took to Instagram to share a photo of the helicopter that had to airlift her to the hospital. "Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers," she wrote alongside the hashtag, "#itwasntourtime." We're glad to hear both women are recovering from the accident. (Eonline)
Kelly Osbourne wore a simple black dress to Sunday night's 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards, but all eyes were on an unexpected accessory -- her cane. Osbourne, 31, injured her foot over the holiday season and is still suffering some four months later. She initially shared the injury in an Instagram of her in a wheel chair. "I have a fracture, chipped bone and torn tendon!!!" she revealed. "Thank you to the amazing doctors and nurses for taking such good care of me." In February, the outspoken fashion critic told the Daily Mail she's suffering from Cuboid Syndrome with five fractures in her right foot. "They said the only way you can wear heels is if you take a walking stick," Osbourne shared. "I literally can't walk without it." A request for comment from Osbourne's team wasn't immediately returned. (Page Six)
The new season of "Empire" is already a hit, and the woman who claims to be the "real-life Cookie Lyon" is more determined than ever to take down the show's creators in court. Former gangster Sophia Eggleston has hired a lawyer and filed new court papers alleging that the producers of "Empire" lifted the flamboyantly fiery role, played by Taraji P. Henson, from the pages of her 2009 autobiography, "The Hidden Hand." According to her attorney, Tom Heed, the one-time Detroit drug kingpin now wants co-creators Lee Daniels and Danny Strong and studio 21st Century Fox to pay her "tens of millions of dollars." Eggleston had filed papers in May 2015 that she wrote herself, but a new, professionally prepared complaint doubles down on the allegations. The defendants have asked the court to dismiss the suit, but Heed tells us Eggleston -- who, according to the filing, did jail time for ordering a "hit" on a man and "running a drug ring" -- is confident of victory. "I certainly feel like she has a very good argument," Heed told Page Six. "What she believes is that the character of herself, especially before she went to prison, as it was expressed in the book 'The Hidden Hand,' was pretty much cribbed in total and that is now the character Cookie Lyon." The papers filed in US District Court in Michigan claim that Eggleston met screenwriter Rita Miller at her home in California in 2011 and that Miller said she would pitch it to Daniels. In the hit Fox show, which began its third season Wednesday to an audience of 12 million viewers, Henson plays a tough-talking former drug boss who goes to jail and orders an assassination upon her release. The suit takes aim at 23 characteristics and plot points that it claims were taken from "The Hidden Hand," including that Eggleston has a gay son and that Lyon has a gay son and that both the real and fictional ladies have a taste for flashy clothes and feather boas. Reps for Daniels, Strong and Fox didn't respond to our request for comment. (Page Six)

Hayden Panettiere's parents have finally put their divorce to bed, and part of the final terms include an outstanding debt to their daughter. According to the divorce docs ... Alan will pay $5,000 a month in spousal support to Hayden's mother, Lesley, for the next 5 years or until she remarries. Alan also agreed to shoulder all of the money owed to their daughter. As we reported ... Hayden helped out mom and dad last year by letting Lesley live in her condo, and loaning Alan $100k. Based on the docs, Lesley wanted to make sure that dough wasn't coming out of her pocket. The divorce settlement brings the nearly 8 year divorce battle to a close. (TMZ)
It's pretty much the last thing Iggy Azalea needs after the week she's had with fiance Nick Young ... but the IRS says she's run up a huge tab with them, and it's time to pay up. Uncle Sam just slapped the rapper with a huge tax lien -- $391,056.55 in unpaid income taxes from 2014. Remember, that was a huge year for Iggy, since her debut album "The New Classic" dropped ... and became a huge hit. Great timing ... since she's not dealing with allegations her guy cheated or anything. Oh wait. You can always count on the taxman ... to make a REALLY bad situation, way badder. (TMZ)
THE OTHER STUFF . . .
Amanda Bynes may have turned 30 on Sunday, but she's still a kid at heart. Bynes rang in her milestone birthday with a carefree day at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California. The actress rode roller-coasters and played games with a group of friends at the theme park on Sunday. And of course, it didn't take fellow parkgoers long to spot the star. "Amanda Bynes is at Six Flags and she got on my ride," wrote on Twitter user. Another wrote that Bynes shared a piece of her birthday cake with a few of her fans. "So apparently my niece and nephew ate @amandabynes cake today @ #SixFlags lmao." The cheerful outing comes just days after Bynes' family attorney told PEOPLE the actress is "doing great." "She is happy and healthy and excited about the future," said Tamar Arminak. And when she's not enjoying spending time with her friends, Bynes is committed to school and planning for a career in fashion, a source close to the star said. "She is working on her own designs, which are incredible thus far. She hopes to launch her line soon," the source said. (People)
Sarah Michelle Geller is one busy mama. But the actress is a pro at maximizing her time at home with her kids. "It's about making the most of the moments that you have," the Cruel Intentions star, who was hosting a Swiffer Yes to the Mess event in New York City on February 3, tells Us Weekly Video. "We're all time-impoverished, we're all busy. But I make sure, when I'm there, that I'm present. I'm not checking my phone. I'm not doing a million things." The Foodstirs cofounder and her husband of 13 years, Freddie Prinze Jr., are parents of Charlotte, 6, and Rocky, 3. "I think conversation is really important," Gellar, 38, told Us in August 2015. "I can't tell you how many times I go to a restaurant and I see families, the second they sit down they just hand out iPads and phones to the kids, and I'm thinking to myself, This should be a special time. Like, I remember when I was younger and I got to go out to eat, that was such a special occasion; that's what grown-ups did. I want to maintain that for my family." (US Weekly)
Wrestlemania is the biggest event in wrestling, so it's no surprise some of the biggest WWE stars crashed the ring at the Sunday night event. Though we were a bit surprised to see a basketball legend take on some of the most ferocious opponents in a 20-man Battle Royal... The sold out crowd of Wrestlemania 32 was treated to tons of action, but the main event was no doubt the return of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who took a break from filming the upcoming Baywatch movie to return to his roots! We could totally smell what the Rock was cooking as he took on Bray Wyatt and his bearded clan of brothers, jokingly accusing them of being inbred and members of Duck Dynasty. LOLz! Luckily, the Rock had a surprise ally to help him in the ring, his longtime rival John Cena -- who put his feud aside to help Johnson take on Wyatt, Braun Strowman, and Erick Rowan! Aside from the Rock/Cena teamup, the biggest shock of the night was the WrestleMania debut of Shaquille O'Neal, who finally lived up to his promise to take part in the WWE's third annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Towering over 7 feet tall, the former LA Lakers and Miami Heat star looked right at home in the 20-person match, which also included Kane, Curtis Axel, Heath Slater, Adam Rose, Bo Dallas, Jack Swagger, and Damien Sandow. Anna Wintour Has Strict Food Demands For The Met Gala! Can You Guess What They Are? She doesn't have that ice queen reputation for nothing! Anna Wintour breathed new life into Vogue magazine when she took over in 1989 as editor-in-chief, and she did the same to the Met Gala when she was handed its reins in 1995. The upcoming documentary, The First Monday in May, details the meticulous process that goes into making fashion's biggest night absolutely perfect. You've seen the trailer, but a new New York Post interview with director Andrew Rossi, Wintour's commander-in-chief Sylvana Durett, and former events planner Stephanie Winston Wolkoff sheds further light on just how involved Wintour is. The 66-year-old also gave Rossi a hard time once in a while: "There were a lot of protocols to follow. There were certain times when Anna would say, 'I'm done, I don't want to film anymore.'" It should also come as no surprise that Anna's a total perfectionist. Durrett said: "She wants to make sure it's executed flawlessly. She is very hands-on." So "hands-on," in fact that she even moves furniture, according to Wolkoff: "We'd be in our gowns and picking up tables and sweeping the floors .?.?. if there's garbage on the floor. Anna does that, too." The grand dame of fashion picking up trash?! Perish the thought! The renowned editor also makes sure that all her guests are absolutely comfortable and happy: "It's a well-known fact that Stella McCartney is a vegan, so we have vegan food available for her table." How considerate! But it's not all fun times as there are strict food rules to follow: "One former Vogue employee tells The Post that Wintour banned parsley from being served at the party 'because you don't want that stuck in your teeth.' Same goes for onion and garlic (bad breath) and appetizers like bruschetta ('It can fall easily on your gown,' says the source)." What about onions, though? They give you bad breath, too! And we're gonna go ahead and assume they don't serve broccoli either. A lot of thought was put into the menu for last year's China-themed event: "They thought that the food didn't look particularly sophisticated and they wanted it to look better. We see Anna literally going on her phone to look up the presentations of different food. The level of detail is shocking." And just as much thought is put into the seating chart: "Anna does it like the head of state. She wants it to be as near [as] possible [to] a perfect party. She wants to mix people up--- the dazzle glamour of Beyonce next to Kim Kardashian next to Lady GaGa with Alexander Wang." The documentary film premieres on April 16, so you can see for yourself all the crazy shizz Wintour demands. (Perez Hilton)
Lily Aldridge stopped by Us Weekly's offices so that we could test her knowledge about her inner circle ... and the Victoria's Secret Angel, 30, got stumped! Did she know which pal wore a blush Marchesa gown at her wedding? Her single girlfriends Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez couldn't be culprits, so she guessed Chrissy Teigen (who chose Vera Wang, for the record) -- completely forgetting that it was Behati Prinsloo. "I was there!" Aldridge laughs. "It must've been the sun ... I couldn't tell." The model, who's married to Kings of Leon rocker Caleb Followill, was also asked about which friend has a hairless Sphinx cat ... and which comrade would drop everything and call her mom just to have a conversation. (US Weekly)
Remember Von Dutch caps, one of the most questionable fashion trends to come out of the early Noughties? Well, Kylie Jenner is regrettably intent on making them a 'thing' once again. Back in their 2002 heyday, they were worn by celebrities including Britney Spears, Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton, Madonna and Justin Timberlake. Teenagers wore them with gay abandon, often teaming them with the harrowing combination of string vests and low-rise jeans, despite having no clue who Von Dutch is or was (a quick google confirms that he was a motorcyclist called Kenny Howard, a name less likely to make it on to the front of hats). They were huge in their day, but thankfully their moment in the sun passed and we all moved on. Even Justin Bieber couldn't instigate the revival of the Von Dutch trucker in 2012, try as he might. If there is one person capable of such a feat it's Kylie Jenner, whose lip kits sold out in minutes, in fact, crashing Google. And she's trying hard to make it happen. This weekend, she posted three pictures of herself wearing a Von Dutch cap. (British Glamour)

Toni Tennille Reveals Radio Rejections, Following Barbra Streisand & More in Memoir Sneak Peek. Love won't keep everyone together -- not even for romantic pop peddler Toni Tennille, as she describes it in her new tell-all, Toni Tennille: A Memoir. From her childhood spent in the segregated south to her meteoric fame as one half of the duo who generated such massive pop hits as "Love Will Keep us Together" and "Muskrat Love," Tennille takes readers through the more difficult moments of her life that many Captain and Tennille fans have never been privy to before. (The book is billed as the story of a "woman who fought a lonely struggle against the controlling and often bizarre behavior of her emotionally inaccessible husband.") Toni Tennille: A Memoir Courtesy Photo In this audio sneak peek of the book, which dropped in both hardcover and audiobook format on April 1, Tennille describes her early start as a club singer in 1960's downtown Detroit when she was married to her first husband, Kenneth Shearer. (They would divorce in the '70s before Tennille would re-marry to her "Captain," Daryl Dragon.) She describes one particular residency in which she followed an up-and-coming artist who club owners described to her as "unpredictable and eccentric" - that person would turn out to be Barbra Streisand. She also explains the bizarre reasoning behind why radio stations wouldn't hire her for commercial work -- but why that same reason would ultimately play to Captain and Tennille's favor (when they would become "one of the few white acts played on soul stations.") Taylor Swift Calls Calvin Harris the "Most Amazing Person" While Accepting Best Tour Award at 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards. Taylor Swift has a lot of people to thank for her success in the music biz, but at the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards she offered an extra special shout out to an extra special someone. That someone -- of course -- is her boyfriend Calvin Harris, who took home Dance Artist of the Year earlier in the evening. The "Shake It Off" songstress was being honored for Best Tour, and in addition to thanking her fans and the slew of megastars who joined her on stage during the 1989 World Tour, Swift finally acknowledged her leading man. "For the first time I had the most amazing person to come home to when the spotlight went out and the crowds were all gone. So I want to thank my boyfriend Adam for that," Taylor gushed, referencing the DJ's real name. But before the chart-topper totally gave us all the feels, Justin Timberlake offered a hilarious introduction ahead Taylor's swoon-worthy acceptance speech. The best moments included J.T. jokingly calling her "Tyler Swifte," before listing a number of the blond beauty's greatest accomplishments. Yes, Taylor has won 250 words to date and broken 5 Guinness World Records, but did you know she's set to take the gold medal in pole vaulting at the 2016 Olympics in Rio? News to us! The "Suit & Tie" crooner even got a little political, referencing presidential candidate Donald Trump's notorious comments. "Some people are out here to build walls. We ain't naming no names. But as an artist... That was a political joke. Shut up! You can't even vote," he told the audience before adding, "Taylor chooses to knock down walls." When it all came down to it, Justin and Taylor then shared the most perfect hug on stage and our hearts (as if they weren't already) melted forever. (Eonline)
Taylor Swift Has Hearts in Her Eyes While Watching Boyfriend Calvin Harris Win iHeartRadio Music Award. In this very moment, Taylor was every lady in love. While she rose to fame crooning about teenage heartbreak, there was no despair in sight for Swift at the iHeartRadio Music Awards Sunday night. As she watched her longtime boyfriend Calvin Harris accept the award for Dance Artist of the Year, she had unmissable hearts in her eyes. From the crowd, cameras spotted the 26-year-old sitting with her head nestled in her hands as she gazed lovingly at her boyfriend as he spoke. If we had to imagine the heart-in-eyes emoji personified, this is most definitely it. While Harris thanked his fellow nominees for their inspiration in the industry, Swift couldn't take her eyes off her man and it was just too adorable for words, especially for a couple that limits its public displays of affection. At one point, she reminded us of our giddy high school selves as she chuckled and clutched her face in reaction to her man's words. After a year of dating, love was certainly in the air between the pair. While accepting the award for Best Tour, Swift took the stage after Harris' win with an unexpected tribute to her beau. "I had the most amazing person to come home to when the spotlight went out and when the crowds were all gone, so I want to thank my boyfriend Adam for that," she concluded her speech. The adorable smirk on Harris' face said it all. All together now: aaawwwwww! (Eonline)

Following Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz' joint show last week, Tunechi and Tity Boi stopped by DJ Drama's Shade 45 radio show to discuss their Collegrove collaboration album, hip-hop influences and forthcoming projects. During the nearly 40-minute sit-down, Dram, who has teamed with Weezy for previous Dedication mixtapes, teased that they "got another one coming." Wayne added, "I've also been working on some crazy shit for a mixtape, we just didn't have a good name for it yet but it might as well just be a Dedication [project]." Chainz also spoke on his basketball fandom and how it was "a dream come true" to team with Wayne on Collegrove. Billboard has reached out to a rep for Lil Wayne for additional comment. (Billboard)
No One Looks Less Impressed By G-Eazy's iHeartRadio Music Awards Performance Than Bono and The Edge. U2's Bono and The Edge were at iHeartRadio Music Awards 2016 to receive the prestigious Innovator Award, but that doesn't mean they had to enjoy themselves, damn it! During G-Eazy and Bebe Rexha's performance of "Me, Myself & I," the camera cut to Bono and The Edge sitting at their table and the guys looked... less than impress to say the least. OK, they looked flat-out bored and actually a little bit annoyed. Their blank stares combined with the swirling lights makes for one of our new favorite GIFs. Legendary rock stars get bored at award shows. Who knew? Maybe they were just reflecting on the fact that they were about to accept the Innovator Award, which they did following G-Eazy's performance. That would explain why those two weren't even bopping their heads or doing literally anything to show that they were hearing any music at all. Well, when you're U2, you can basically do whatever the hell you want. "Now a lot of people will find this hard to believe and I accept that, but Edge is actually from the future," Bono told the crowd during their acceptance speech. "And I was going to ask Edge in front of you all what does the future sound like?" "Rock and roll," Edge answered. It's safe to say the future will also include the GIF of those guys looking bored, because it's THE BEST. (Eonline)

The Daniels' absurd R-rated comedy stars Radcliffe as a dead body that Dano uses to escape death on a tiny deserted island. "So this is the life I forgot." A24 released a trailer for Swiss Army Man, also known as the Daniel Radcliffe-Paul Dano "farting corpse" movie that caused a stir in its Sundance premiere earlier this year. Written and directed by the music video-directing duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (collectively known as the Daniels), the absurd R-rated comedy follows Hank (Dano), a suicidal castaway who is stranded a tiny deserted island. One day a dead body (Radcliffe) washes ashore, and Hank realizes it may be his last opportunity to escape certain death, so the duo go on an epic adventure to bring Hank back to the woman of his dreams. The trailer for the survivalist tale -- which nabbed the Dramatic Directing Award at Sundance -- previews some of its quirkiest moments, including when the farts of Radcliffe's character are used to create a human jet ski of sorts. It also features "Montage," a song composed by Manchester Orchestra and performed by Dano and Radcliffe. (Hollywood Reporter)
"It was a bit painful -- I didn't want to go back into my life and imagine things that I hadn't understood so far." The world isn't going to get to read Sir Ian McKellen's autobiography. Last year it emerged that the celebrated and Oscar-nominated thespian would be penning his own memoir in a deal with publishers Hodder & Stoughton reported to be worth £1 million ($1.4 million). But earlier this month the 76-year-old stage and screen icon revealed that he'd pulled the plug on the contract. Speaking Sunday at the Oxford Literary Festival, the Lord of the Rings star and gay rights activist explained the decision. "I put nine months aside to do it, and I got a very handsome advance. Then I sent the money back," he said. "It was a bit painful. I didn't want to go back into my life and imagine things that I hadn't understood so far," McKellen continued. "The privacy of my life I don't quite understand myself, and it has nothing to do with what I do for a living. So there you go, I'm sorry." McKellen first came out publicly in 1988, at the age of 49, and last year he admitted that he regretted not coming out earlier. He said, "I think I would have been a different person and a happier one." (Hollywood Reporter)
Bazelevs and Youngle Pictures agree China release of 'He Is a Dragon' after romantic fantasy is downloaded illegally more than 5.6 million times. The producers of Russian fantasy film On - Drakon (He Is a Dragon) - have turned piracy to their advantage after signing a distribution deal with China's Youngle Pictures - part of YL Entertainment, the country's largest cinema holding company. The film - a romantic fantasy about Princess Miroslava, who is abducted by a dragon on her wedding day and taken to an island castle - has been downloaded illegally in China more than 5.6 million times, attracting 270,000 comments on social media, since it was released in Russia last December according to figures from Moscow-based production and distribution company Bazelevs. Producers at Bazelevs, a company founded by Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov, realized that such figures were less of a threat than a commercial advantage and struck a deal with Youngle Pictures to distribute the film across its wide network of cinemas. Bazelevs said that the level of piracy and comments comparing the film favorably with Games of Thrones and Twilight, suggested there was strong potential for a theatrical release. Producer Igor Tsai said: "We believe Youngle Pictures will bring a diversified approach to the promotional campaign and has sufficient resources for distributing the film across 10,000 screens in China. We hope this deal with be the beginning of long-term cooperation." Wan Jun, president of Youngle Pictures, said the company saw potential for developing merchandising, including "comics and mobile apps." Youngle Pictures is part of China's YL Entertainment, which is the country's official distributor for Universal Pictures. (Hollywood Reporter)
Perhaps the receptionist at Disney's London offices simply hasn't seen the studio's most successful film to date. Given that he's had a not-exactly-major but still somewhat crucial role in its biggest film to date, Mark Hamill could be forgiven for assuming Disney might know how to spell his name. Unfortunately for the actor, it seems the receptionist at the studio's London HQ may have missed Star Wars: The Force Awakens (or at least left before the final scene), along with the franchise's first, rather famous, three outings. In a tweet sent Sunday, Hamill showed a picture of his security pass, which declares his name to be Mark Hamilton. Industry know-it-alls will, of course, note that Mark Hamilton is a visual effects specialist who has worked on the likes of The Nutty Professor, The Mummy Returns and, indeed, Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, so perhaps there was some slight justification for the slip-up. Or perhaps not. (Hollywood Reporter)

Game of Thrones' Kit Harington Gives Shocking Answers -- Literally -- to Your Burning Questions. Kit Harington has had months of practice (probably) lying about Game of Thrones. He took that skill on The Jonathan Ross Show when the host, Jonathan Ross, put Harington to the test about season four with a little electric shock test. In the clip, Ross asked Harington some Game of Thrones questions, like "Are you dead?" and if Ross wasn't satisfied with the actor's answers, Harington got a shock. There were a lot of shocks. Harington answered "yes" to "Are you dead?" Right... Harington also confirmed he is playing a dead body in Game of Thrones season six, which he has said before, but said he's not playing a White Walker. If only all talk shows and red carpets had The Stone of Truth. "Look, I'm not in the show anymore. I'm definitely not in the new series," Harington previously said. "I filmed some scenes of me being dead -- it's some of my best work." As for the rest of the reason, he told Time Out London he doesn't "have a clue." "I know how long I'm a corpse for, but I can't tell you that," he said. Hey, he has that dead face down pretty well. It's even in the season six trailer. Despite the (probable) lies, it seemed like Harington had a great time getting shocked. He smiled! All will finally be revealed when Game of Thrones season six premieres on Sunday, April 24 on HBO. Dancing with the Stars season 22 is in full swing-but it's minus fan favorite pro Derek Hough. PEOPLE caught up with the star at the iHeartRadio Music Awards Sunday in Los Angeles, and he explained the reason behind his decision to sit out on this season of the hit show. "I think I just always had the feeling of being inspired-I want to give all to whatever I'm doing. I think I just needed a little bit of time to grow," said Derek, who helped guide Bindi Irwin to victory last year, marking a record sixth win for himself. "I think if you're not growing, essentially-it sounds dramatic but it's true-so for me this is giving me some time to work on other skills that I want to work on for myself," he said. Derek, 30, says he hopes his break will allow him to "extend my vocabulary of movement in different avenues and different things" for when he returns. "It's been great! And [I'm] also prepping for projects coming, there's a lot of stuff happening so I'm going to get busy real busy again," he added. "I'm enjoying some time now to kind of-it's one thing building a career, but also building a life. I need to have that time." And time off means time off-in fact, he hasn't even been watching this season. "I just hear [about it] from my friends. I missed the episode last week," he said. "I'll be doing something and be like, 'Oh yeah, the show! I missed the show! Shoot.' Normally you're just so consumed by it, it's wild." As for whether we can expect him back in the ballroom for season 23? That's still up in the air. "I don't know. We'll see how it goes," he said. "We'll see what happens." Also taking a break from the show is his sister Julianne Hough, who exclusively told PEOPLE in February that she would not be returning to judge for season 22. Julianne, meanwhile, is busy enjoying her engagement to hockey player Brooks Laich. "In Mormon culture, three months is a long time to be engaged," Julianne, whose father is Mormon, recently told PEOPLE. "But we plan on being together forever, so we have time." And even though he's in no rush to figure it out, Derek already has an idea of what he's going to buy his sister for the wedding. "The Ninja blender!" he said. Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays (8 p.m. ET) on ABC. (People)
Caitlyn Jenner: Olympian, reality star, advocate and ... actress? It seems so! The I Am Cait star will appear on the third season of Amazon's Transparent, the show's creator Jill Soloway confirmed to the Associated Press. Soloway told the AP that Jenner will begin filming her scenes for the show as an undisclosed character next week, and called the casting a "dream come true." "We are all part of the same community. A lot of the transwomen who work on our show are also in her show, I am Cait," Soloway explained of Jenner's appearance. "Lots of crossover. Lots of friends." Transparent, which stars Jeffrey Tambor, follows a transgender woman named Maura Pfefferman who's trying to maintain the peace among her three adult children. Jenner has displayed her acting chops before, having guest stints in Chips, Murder She Wrote and The Love Boat. The Caitlyn Jenner Story: From Olympic Icon to Transgender Hero. Soloway has previously gushed over Jenner, who publicly transitioned last year, telling PEOPLE that the reality star has "broken down the last barrier." "She's the most famous trans woman on the planet, she's in the most famous family on the planet," Soloway said in November, adding, "It's a blessing. There are so few out trans role models. I liken it to when you're a little kid and you want to cross the street, but the highway's too busy and so everybody holds hands and walks across together." (People)
The Walking Dead Season Finale Finally Introduced Negan and Left Us With One Hell of a Cliffhanger. Warning: The following contain spoilers from Sunday night's season finale of The Walking Dead. Proceed with caution. "Pissing our pants yet?" Maybe. How exactly does AMC expect us to just sit around and wait until October for new episodes of The Walking Dead after that season finale? After that cliffhanger? How?! Now that our fingernails have begun to recover from 90 straight minutes of our nervous biting and we can actually think about typing, let's start breaking down the insanity we just witnessed during what turned out to be the world's worst RV ride ever. After weeks of believing that they were capable of taking out Negan with relative ease, Rick and the gang learned the hard way Sunday night that they had no real idea what they were up against. A simple day's drive to the Hilltop to get Maggie some emergency medical help turned into one of the cruelest games of cat and mouse we've ever seen. The Saviors anticipated each and every move Rick made out on the road, cutting them off at every possible path with growing numbers each time. It would have almost been funny if it weren't so damn terrifying. We all knew where this was going: Jeffrey Dean Morgan's highly anticipated (and dreaded) entrance as Negan. After finally learning Daryl's fate (just shot in the arm, it seems) when he, Glenn, Michonne, and Rosita were forced onto their knees alongside Rick's RV crew, it was full-on terror time as Negan sauntered out with Lucille, asking if everyone had wet themselves. (Sidebar: That taunt was meant for the audience at home as much as it was for the characters on the screen, right?) "Sucks, don't it? The moment you realize you don't know s--t," he told Rick. Yes, yes it does. Negan made it clear what he wanted from everyone, and it was everything. "Give me your s--t or I will kill you. Today was career day. We invested a lot so you would know who I am and what I can do. You work for me now," he explained. "You have s--t, you give it to me. That's your job. Now, I know that is a mighty big, nasty pill to swallow. But swallow it you will." And then he set out to make an example out of someone, to really drive his point home. It was probably at about this point in the episode that we were full-on shaking. His "eenie, meenie, miney, moe" routine with Lucille aimed at the heads of our heroes as they trembled on their knees? The stuff of nightmares. And the actual act? While we're thankful that the show didn't subject us to the full view of someone having their head smashed like a Gallagher routine gone horribly, horribly wrong, we've got to admit that we're more than a little peeved that the show chose to go the cliffhanger route and not reveal who was killed off. After the Glenn fiasco of last fall, we were hoping the show had maybe learned its lesson about playing with us like this. Clearly, they did not. So now we have to wait months, replaying the sound of those brutal whacks to someone's head over and over again as we theorize about who's a goner. Who can we petition at AMC to start paying our therapy bills? As if that wasn't enough, we also have the matter of Carol and Morgan and what new world they'll be in come the fall. After finding her wounded, Morgan and Carol squabbled some more over her decision to leave Alexandria. Of course, she ran off again because that's apparently just what Carol does now and, of course, that damn Savior found her and nearly killed her. As expected, Morgan was forced to betray his nonviolence thing and kill the guy. And then some men in armor arrived and offered them help. Who are these men? Where did they come from? And where are they taking Morgan and Carol? So many questions. And so much time to wait for answers. What did you think about the finale? And who do you think met their maker Sunday night? (Our money's still on Glenn. Just saying.) The Walking Dead returns for season seven this fall on AMC. (Eonline)
Jeffrey Dean Morgan Has A Message to The Walking Dead Fans After the Season 6 Finale. Ladies and gentlemen, Negan is here. Jeffrey Dean Morgan made his bloody, "pants-pissing" debut in The Walking Dead season six finale and just as you expected, things will never be the same. With Lucille (the barbed wire wrapped baseball bat) in hand, Morgan's Negan shook The Walking Dead to its core... and we have to wait until October of 2016 to find out whose unfortunate face was at the receiving end of that bat. Rick, Glenn, Maggie, Daryl, Abraham, Aaron, Sasha, Carl, and Eugene were all lined up on their knees there at the end at Negan's mercy, and thanks to a game of "Eeny Meeny Miney Moe," he picked one of them (minus Rick or Carl)...and we have to wait to find out who. When E! News sat down with Morgan onset of The Good Wife for the CBS legal drama's penultimate episode, he issued the message to fans who were left shocked after "Last Day on Earth." "He's a game changer and it's a complete 180 from what I'm doing on The Good Wife, which as an actor it's a dream come true. I get to be the biggest ass in the world. It's awesome," Morgan said earlier this year during an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers. So, will you be sending any hate mail to Jeffrey Dean Morgan? Sound off in the comments, and check back later for our full recap! The Walking Dead season seven is expected to premiere in October. (Eonline)

The Walking Dead Bosses Defend That Finale Cliffhanger -- What Does It Mean for Season 7? The Walking Dead bosses see your rage, but they do not agree with it. The season six finale ended Sunday night with one hell of a cliffhanger, all thanks to the arrival of the bat-wielding Negan. Jeffrey Dean Morgan made his grand entrance and wasted no time in terrifying us all and ruining our lives by lining up all of our favorite Walking Dead characters and choosing one to hit with his barbed-wire bat. We didn't see who he chose, but we did get to watch from their perspective as their head was brutally bashed in. While we were too stunned to even move our fingers, many fans took to Twitter to express their anger at yet another cliffhanger and yet another reason to argue for the next six months. Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick addressed this anger during Sunday night's finale aftershow, and it's clear that comic creator Robert Kirkman and executive producer Scott M. Gimple aren't on board. "As a fan, I love cliffhangers," Kirkman said. "I love that tension. If you read the comic books, pretty much every issue ends with a cliffhanger. I think that's a lot of fun." "When they opened up the hatch and we had to wait to see what was in the hatch, I liked thinking about it," Gimple said, giving an example of one of Lost's most famous cliffhangers before citing Star Trek and Grey's Anatomy too (sort of). "When Commander Riker told Worf to fire at the borg ship while Locutus is in there, I liked that. When McDreamy was left at the alter, I liked talking about that. I probably made that up, but I know something like that happened!" Aside from their love of cliffhangers, Gimple and Kirkman promise that the story ended that way for a reason. "The cliffhanger isn't the story," Kirkman said, explaining that this whole episode was designed to set up "how confident Rick was going into this." "This episode is about the loss of that confidence. It's about tearing Rick Grimes down, and that's the conclusion of this episode. The story of who died, of what comes next, of who Negan killed, that's really the story of season seven." Gimple also promised that the show will make it up to the fans for the end of that episode. "We have to do an episode that justifies it to you," Gimple says of season seven. "We have to do something so great and so intense that you're like, OK, all right, fair play, and that's the challenge that we have. We're going to do it, we're going to deliver you something fantastic. We want you to be one of those people in that lineup. We want you to feel that suspense, that terror, and that pain, and we're going to deliver you a story next season that justifies it." At this point, it's hard to tell if what we're feeling is actually anger as opposed to shock or just relief from how tense we felt during those final moments. We may have to wait until October for a new season, but it may also take us until October to get those head bashing sounds out of our own heads. The Walking Dead returns in October to AMC. (Eonline)
The cable network has added an additional 26 episodes of the weekly series. TBS has ordered a full year of its new weekly late-night series, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. The cable network announced Monday that it has added 26 more episodes to the new series, bringing the total number of Full Frontal episodes to 39 and taking the show through the end of 2016. Full Frontal debuted in February, making Bee the lone female late-night host on TV. The Daily Show alum has used this distinction to focus on female-centric stories, like abortion regulations and untested rape kits. Bee and her team also actively worked to create a diverse writing staff for the show. The satirical series, which airs Monday nights at 10:30 p.m., was originally given a 13-episode order, with Bee indicating to press ahead of the show's debut that her team wouldn't hold back in their initial episodes. In response to news of the renewal, Bee said in a statement, "Stay crazy America, I'll be here all year!" TBS' evp, original programming, Brett Weitz, added, "Sam has positioned herself as an essential voice in late night, and it's pretty clear she's struck a nerve and filled a void." Ironically, Full Frontal is currently in the middle of a two-week vacation and won't air due to the NCAA Championship. The show, which has received critical acclaim, is reaching an average of 3.7 million viewers per episode across TBS' linear, digital and mobile platforms, including Live + 7 deliveries of a million adults 18-49 and 2.1 million total viewers, according to TBS. Clips from the show have generated 29 million views on the Full Frontal with Samantha Bee YouTube channel. The show is executive produced by Samantha Bee, Jason Jones, Jo Miller, Miles Kahn and Tony Hernandez. Jones, a fellow Daily Show alum and Bee's husband, also has his own scripted series, The Detour, premiering on TBS this month. (Hollywood Reporter)
As the Sunshine State's conservative legislature rejects "Hollywood handouts" and does away with its sought-after incentives program, filmmakers look elsewhere for beachside sets. Says Florida State Sen. Nancy Detert, "Georgia is doing a bang-up job." Florida's year-round sunshine, versatile locations and robust infrastructure long have made the state a coveted destination for such series and films as Burn Notice and Spring Breakers. But so did the state's tax incentives program, which legislators in March decided against replenishing for a fourth consecutive year. As one Florida film commissioner put it, the conservative legislature isn't keen on giving "Hollywood handouts," and instead is betting on the region's built-in assets to continue to attract business. But with lawmakers declining to inject any new money into the program -- nearly $300 million was allocated in 2010 -- the future of the Sunshine State's once-booming film industry is unclear. In 2006, Florida ranked as the third-largest filmmaking state in the U.S., behind California and New York. Now, Film L.A. research analyst Adrian McDonald says he'd be "stunned" if Florida made the top 10, noting that production spending within the state has plummeted in recent years, down from $366 million in 2011 to $175 million in 2015 in Miami alone. The last of the state's funding was scooped up by Netflix's Florida Keys-set drama Bloodline and HBO's Miami-based football comedy Ballers, but it was only enough for two seasons. "We have a long history of shooting projects in Florida and were obviously disappointed in the recent vote to not renew the incentive program," HBO said in a statement to THR. "We will be assessing its impact on any future productions like Ballers, who have established Florida as their home." In an effort to lobby lawmakers, Bloodline script supervisor Kathryn Waters wrote a Facebook post in January imploring business owners in the Keys to email a "Friends of Bloodline" Gmail address about the impact of the show, which earned two Emmy nominations for its first season, on the local community. (According to a film impact study, the series helped create more than $91 million in economic output by way of production spending and tourism in its first season.) "If new money is not made available, it is doubtful that Bloodline will have a season three," Waters wrote. Netflix and Sony declined to comment. Though it might not be so easy for a series as atmospheric as Bloodline to film in substitute locations, other projects are turning to nearby states that do offer incentives. "Have we lost business to Georgia? Of course," says Michelle Hillery, president of Film Florida and deputy film commissioner in Palm Beach County. "We've lost about $650 million of business. We're losing a great deal of our history because our stories are being told in other states." A prime example is Ben Affleck's upcoming thriller Live by Night, which skipped the historic Tampa district where it's set altogether and instead created a replica in the Peach State. "We were flabbergasted to learn that it's cheaper to rebuild Ybor City in Georgia than it is to film it right here," says Florida State Sen. Nancy Detert, who is stepping down after leading the charge to reinstate the incentives program for the past four years. "We have to sit here and be embarrassed as we lose projects. Georgia is doing a bang-up job." In fact, shooting exteriors in Florida and then relocating to complete filming is becoming more the norm. "It used to be the reverse," says Sheena Fowler of the Orlando Economic Development Commission. "For a long time, we were Anywhere USA and would be [a stand-in for] San Diego, Egypt, all these places across the globe. Now they're coming here for two days to film 'Florida,' then going elsewhere." This is the approach Paramount took on its upcoming Dwayne Johnson-starring Baywatch, which shot for a couple of weeks in Miami and Broward County before moving to Savannah, Ga., for the majority of the beachside flick. Other films that chose the partial-shoot route: Ride Along 2, last year's Alvin and the Chipmunks sequel and the upcoming War Dogs, starring Miles Teller and Jonah Hill. Florida actors also have become more mobile as productions cross state lines. When Netflix's Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt shot an upcoming episode at Universal Studios, several guest stars came from the local talent pool. "One of the guys I met was Orlando-based but mostly working out of Louisiana and Atlanta," says series co-creator Robert Carlock. "He said it was the shortest commute he'd had in some time." Many in the local film community are looking for positive signs about the state's future filmmaking prospects. "Are we concerned? For sure," says Hillery. "We will continue to get those establishing shots or a couple days or maybe a week or two, but the majority of these projects are done in other areas that do offer some sort of tax credit." Between Ballers and Baywatch, Johnson alone has ushered in substantial business for the state, partly so that he can be near his Fort Lauderdale home, his girlfriend and their newborn. Jokes Sandy Lighterman, film commissioner for Miami-Dade County, where Ballers filmed: "Can he please have more babies?" (Hollywood Reporter)
