Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna Are Engaged. Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna are engaged. After three months of dating, the couple announced their engagement via Instagram overnight. Blac, 27, shared the first photo of her ring, writing, "YES!...!...!" Rob, 29, later shared a picture of his bride-to-be flashing her rock while holding a stack of dollar bills. Blac and Rob celebrated their engagement at the L.A. gentlemen's club Ace of Diamonds, as she had been hired to host a party prior to Rob popping the question. No modern engagement would be complete without a Snapchat story, of course. In one of the videos Blac shared with her fans, she and Rob were grinning from ear to ear as they listened to Kanye West's "Highlights" in the car, in which his brother-in-law, 38, raps, "Blac Chyna f---king Rob helped him with the weight." Three sources close to Blac confirmed the engagement to E! News Tuesday. "They are so happy," an insider said. "Chyna's been texting her friends how excited she is!" Rob had asked Blac's family for their permission before proposing, two sources add. Her mom, Tokyo Toni, gushed about the engagement via Instagram Tuesday, writing, "Chy and Rob are my favorite two people in the world. They both have shown strength diversity and triumph. These kids are fabulous and both are great role models to young old or children. I have so much respect for this couple and all attached." As for a wedding date, Tokyo played coy, telling her followers, "To be continued." According to one source, Rob bought the ring a week or so ago. "They were serious from the time they started dating," the source says. "He knew he wanted to marry her." Blac's BFF, Amber Rose, gave the couple a shout-out on Instagram Tuesday, writing, "Congratulations to my Family @blacchyna and @robkardashian!!! Pease don't let nothing or no one tear u guys apart! I never seen my sis so happy and I couldn't be more happy for her! Sometimes we find love in the strangest places Lol God Bless you 2! Now let's get this wedding together so y'all can start making some babies #TrueLove #putaringonitsouknowitsreal #BlacRob." Though it seems to be a happy time for the twosome, some fans were quick to question whether the engagement is real, and if so, whether it will last. After all, Blac has played into engagement rumors with Rob before. Together since January, this will be the first marriage for both Blac and Rob. The Lashed salon owner was previously engaged to Tyga, with whom she has a 3-year-old son, King Cairo Stevenson. (Eonline)

Emilia Clarke Finally Opens Up About Dating Seth MacFarlane. It's been 3 years since Emilia Clarke and Seth MacFarlane reportedly broke up, and for the first time, the Game of Thrones actress is opening up about her relationship with the comedian. Covering the May issue of Glamour magazine, Clarke wasn't afraid to get real about the annoyances of dating someone in the public eye. "Well, a con is you have strangers giving you love-life advice like, 'I'm a big fan of the show, and I'm not sure what you're doing with that guy,' which I didn't react well to," she explained. "That happened in New York when Seth and I were together. This guy started to give me advice: 'Can I get a selfie? And by the way... ' Unh-unh, bro." Clarke and MacFarlane reportedly started dating in 2012 and eventually split up in 2013 as a source told E! News the long-distance relationship just didn't work out. As for any new men in the brunette beauty's life? "No, I'm just chilling," she tells the publication. "I've got a good thing going." In fact, Clarke says she has a strong support system and doesn't need a man to fill any void at the moment. When asked who she relies on most, she says, "My family. My drama school friends -- some of them aren't acting anymore. The gorgeous thing about having friends who aren't in the entertainment world is they're like, 'You're letting important moments pass you by. Don't be cool about it.' Like, we're at a Hollywood party, whatever. Stop. Appreciate this." Part of not letting anything pass her by, Clarke lives by one motto: "Take the meeting." "He asked you out? Take the meeting," she explains. "They want you to do this job? Take the meeting." Thus, after taking the meeting, she landed the role of a lifetime on GoT -- something she admits has had its ups and downs. "Within the space of time between them saying, 'You've got the part of Khaleesi' and now, I lost my power. I found it. I lost it. I found it." She continues, "As a woman -- no, as a young adult, you spend your twenties figuring out who you are and what you want to do; it's a scary time. There are days when I feel like the less strong version of myself." Check out her full interview in Glamour magazine, on stands April 12. (Eonline)
Adrienne Bailon Breaks Silence on New Relationship With Israel Houghton: My Boyfriend ''Is Not Married.'' Adrienne Bailon is finally clearing the air once and for all about her new boyfriend, Israel Houghton. The new couple prompted criticism over the fact that Houghton had announced his divorce just one month prior to them being seen vacationing together for the first time at the Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa in Tulum. "I think I'm more than anything grateful that I have a platform like this, where I can be with my girls. The show is called The Real it is a place where we can speak about the truth," the 32-year-old TV personality explains during this week's episode of the popular show. "With that being said, the man pictured here is not married. Praise God." Bailon continued, "He had actually put out a statement. He is single, number one. The other thing people were saying was that I was the cause of the divorce, which I think any divorce is obviously a sad thing. People have to go through it, [it] takes time to get through that sort of thing, and I think no one put that time together. I think people see an announcement was made at the top of the year and then they see these photos and then they think well let's put this together but this is why I'm grateful for things like this because it allows you to set the facts straight and God forbid the facts get in the way of a really juicy story. I'm going to say the truth and the truth of the matter is he isn't married. He obviously is divorced." Before moving on to another subject, Bailon had one final note to put an end to the speculation once and for all, saying, "He had put out a statement that he had failed in his marriage and it was five years back and I didn't know him at the time. So to put that on me was obviously hurtful." (Eonline)
John Travolta Doesn't "Interfere" With His Daughter's Dating Life. Leaving it to mom! John Travolta is just a dad on the outside, and that's where he wants to be. The American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson star appears on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Tuesday and he's bringing along his wife, Kelly Preston, and his daughter, Ella Bleu Travolta. Host Ellen DeGeneres asks the freshly turned 16 year old whether she was dating just yet, but her dad steps in before she could answer. "No no no. I don't interfere with that. And you know, I'm saving her because she has two guys that she hangs out with," Travolta explains. "I don't ask anything about what they say or do with each other. I just respectfully..." Ellen quickly figures out that it's Ella's mom who is in charge of the dating scene. "Kelly do you ask?" the daytime talk show host asks Kelly. "I know everything," Kelly responds. "Well mothers always do," John jokes. Both Kelly and Ella eventually reveal that she isn't dating just yet, which is perfectly fine with dad! "Let's keep it that way," he says. "I never want my children to leave the house, ever." This isn't the first time the Grease star has brought one of his kids along with him to a talk show appearance. Last year John's son Benjamin made his debut appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman and made it clear that he wasn't totally ready for life in front of the cameras. "I took him to Toys 'R Us recently, and he said to me when we got out of the truck and in the cart, 'Why are all these people wanting my photograph?' Because I didn't know if he knew I was in films or not," the A-lister explained. "He said, 'Well, maybe they saw one of your movies!' And he said, 'I want to work with you!' So we'll see how that evolves. I don't want to force [it]." But when host David Letterman asked to bring Benjamin onto the set, he became a little shy. Just as he was about to step in front of the bright lights, he got nervous and darted off! Both the show host and the actor tried to woo the 4-year-old back onto the stage, but he wasn't having it, and instead chose to run into his mom's arms. (Eonline)
Michelle Rodriguez Admits Her Sadness Over Paul Walker's Death Is ''More Like Jealousy'' That He Left First. Michelle Rodriguez, like many of her Fast & Furious co-stars, was devastated when Paul Walker passed away, but the actress now confesses that her sadness over his death was more so fueled by jealousy. In a clip from the controversial documentary The Reality of Truth, the actress sits down to discuss her recent experience under the influence of a psychedelic plant called Ayahuasca, and how that awakened her realization of how she was coping with Walker's death. "I have to say, you know, when I lost Paul, I went through about a year of just being an animal," she admits. "Like, what could I do, physically, to just get my mind off of existentialism? Get my mind off of how transient life is and how we come here and can just disappear at any moment. How could I get my mind off that?" Rodriguez continued to confess that she went a bit "crazy" over the summer, and revealed the root of her sadness with Walker's passing. "I did everything I could possibly do to hide from myself and I'll tell you that my Ayahuasca trip made me sad that he left me here," she said. "It wasn't a sadness that he's gone, it's more like a jealousy that he's there first." The Reality of Truth, directed by Mike Zapolin and Lauren Levy, features Rodriguez, Zapolin, and others, guided by Deepak Chopra, exploring everything from meditation to plants on their international quest to transcend the boundaries of the human mind. In the doc, Rodriguez is shown using the plant Ayanhuasca in Peru and saying, "It brought the destruction of everything I've ever known...I had an awakening." Ayahuasca is a brew used as a traditional spiritual medicine in ceremonies among the Indigenous peoples of Amazonian Peru, many of whom say that they received the instructions in its use directly from the plants and plant spirits themselves. The Reality of Truth describes itself as a "controversial film exploring a psychenauts journey inside the mind to find the truth. The truth is here, and it's waiting for you." (Eonline)
It's hard being Charlize Theron... or at least she thinks so! For British GQ's May issue, the Oscar winner flaunted her gorgeous gams and dished about what life as an A-lister is REALLY like. Ooh, intriguing! In fact Miz Theron even revealed that, despite being one of the world's most beautiful women, her good looks have worked against her when it comes to getting work. WHAT? The face of Dior explained: "How many roles are out there for the gorgeous, f*cking, gown-wearing eight-foot model? When meaty roles come through, I've been in the room and pretty people get turned away first." We can only imagine how "hard" it must be to be too beautiful. LOLz! Still, it appears as though the blonde beauty's role in her new film The Huntsman: Winter's War hits a little close to home. On her vanity obsessed character, Charlize added: "We live in a society where women wilt and men age like fine wine. And, for a long time, women accepted it. We were waiting for society to change, but now we're taking leadership. It would be a lie to say there is less worry for women as they get older than there is for men... It feels there's this unrealistic standard of what a woman is supposed to look like when she's over 40." Well said! Nonetheless, we do think the Monster actress should check herself before complaining about being too pretty in the future. (Perez Hilton)
Iggy Azalea's had enough of scandals. And having weathered real-life cheating drama with fiance Nick Young, she's putting a firm lid on any others. Hitting back at reports that she was embroiled in a scandal with the IRS, having had a tax lien placed against her to the tune of nearly $400,000 of unpaid income taxes from 2014, the singer suggested the media were bored and desperate for more stories. The "Fancy" singer argued via Twitter that the lien document had been reported out of context and that she's never had any intention of trying to cheat her way out of paying her fair share of taxes. "The IRS gave the option to pay them monthly or lump sum. i picked monthly, who wouldnt?" she tweeted, adding that she'd made the deal two months previously. "Its like writing 'iggy pays a mortgage on her house every month!' and trying to make it a story," she added. "It's not a story. lol." Azalea went on to suggest the only reason anybody's interested in reporting the information is to try and make the "soap opera" of her scandal with Young play out longer. "Peep the way when one thing happens media scrambles to keep adding on to the storyline, like a soap opera. #IggyNovela," the 25-year-old musician wrote. "[The media] are trying to make it into something now because they were hoping some more nick mess would happen and now that it hasn't and it's getting boring they need 2 create something else," Azalea continued. "It's super corny, but i know the way it works this time around and it's expected." As Us Weekly reported previously, Azalea and Young zoomed into the headlines after Young's L.A. Lakers teammate D'Angelo Russell released a video in which he appears to confess to cheating on the Australian rapper. But talking on the red carpet of the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards, where she was still wearing her $500,000 engagement ring, Azalea implied the wedding was still on. "I really want to be her bridesmaid," she told Entertainment Tonight of her good friend Demi Lovato. "I want us to like have a whole wedding thing together," she added. (US Weekly)
Australian actress Ruby Rose has opened up about her struggles with depression after a fan unearthed an old tweet from 2013... Back in 2013, the Orange is the New Black actress tweeted saying: "It is with great sadness that despite everything I've tried in the short time I was given I am losing my battle with depression." After a fan retweeted the old tweet, Ruby took the time to post it to Instagram to explain the difficult period in her life. She started by saying: "When I posted this in relation to abruptly leaving Australia cancelling a string of shows and commitments.. I had hit a rock bottom.. I couldn't find happiness anywhere except my dogs face and even that wasn't enough. "I thought I had failed at being a human being an adult [sic]." Ruby continued: "I didn't know what to do so I left for America to work with trauma therapists and I spent pretty much all the money I had made in my life on an overpriced rehab and a lot of therapy (There are definitely other ways to do it). "I slept on a blow up mattress when I got my first apartment in Santa Monica, I adopted a dog before I furnished my place.. My dog, Ru, had a bed before me. "I don't want to ramble on, I'm just feeling reflective because I chose to fight and I thought it meant I'd be able to live. I DIDNT think it meant I'd be able to live my dream. "I DIDNT think it would result in this extraordinary life I get to be a part of now... It just makes me wonder how many others are days, hours, seconds away from realizing their worth.. Their potential.. And once the dark cloud is lifted will be truly happy and free..[sic]." Ruby is currently working on filmed called xXx: Return of Xander Cage with Vin Diesel. (British Glamour)
Maze Runner Star Dylan O'Brien "Healing Very Well" After On-Set Accident, Will Return to Work in About Six Weeks. We're happy to report that Dylan O'Brien's recovery is coming along so well that he's planning on returning to work next month. The Teen Wolf actor, 24, was seriously injured in mid-March while filming a scene for The Maze Runner: The Death Cure in Vancouver, Canada. "He's healing very well," his Maze Runner co-star Giancarlo Esposito told me at the premiere of his new film The Jungle Book. "He got put together a couple of weeks ago...He's one tough cookie." Filming was immediately shut down after the accident, but Esposito said shooting is set to resume on May 15. Death Cure is the third film in the Maze Runner franchise. A report on WorkSafeBC said to be about O'Brien's accident claims he suffered a "concussion, facial fracture and lacerations" after falling to the ground when the motorcycle he was driving went into a slide after completing a stunt. (O'Brien is not identified in the WorkSafeBC report to protect the privacy of workers.) "The worker struck his head on the pavement and temporarily lost consciousness," the report says. "He got his bell rung," Esposito said. "I would imagine many who witnessed thought that was it ... [But] he's a survivor. The one good thing about Dylan that I think is going to help him get back on schedule with us very soon is he has a great attitude." And a great sense of humor. Esposito sent O'Brien a text while he was in hospital "knowing he wouldn't get it for about three days when he was laying up in the hospital getting ready for surgery. "He opens it up and he goes, 'Oh, my God, I almost broke my face laughing,'" Esposito said. "I said, 'If you wanted to get out of work I have connections at the studio. I would have gotten you off for a couple of days. You didn't have to do that to yourself.'" Maze Runner director Wes Ball tweeted an update on O'Brien's condition not long after the accident. "Well, it's been a whirlwind of emotions these past few days. I've been overwhelmed with feelings of anger and sadness and guilt," he wrote on Twitter. "But ultimately I find myself left with just a deep love and respect for Dylan. He is one tough cookie." Ball continued, "I'm sorry for the grief this accident has caused his friends and family as well as my wonderful cast and crew. It's scary seeing your friend get hurt, but fortunately, Dylan is going to be just fine. After a few weeks of rest and recovery he will be back up and running to finish our adventure together. All the best." (Eonline)
Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow are done negotiating, and they're about to sign and file their divorce settlement. As we reported, Gwyneth filed for divorce a year ago, but curiously Chris never filed an answer. The judge recently warned a default judgment would be issued in Gwyneth's favor (since she's the petitioner) if the divorce lay dormant any longer. Our sources say, in reality the divorce was never stalled ... the business people for the former couple were hashing out a settlement. The plan was not to file any legal docs that would attract attention until the ink on the settlement was dry. We're told one additional document needs their signatures before it's a done deal. The document is merely a formality, and the only reason it hasn't been signed yet is because Gwyneth and Chris were in Peru with their kids for spring break. We're told the settlement will be complete in a matter of days ... possibly later Tuesday. Under the deal, Chris and Gwyneth get joint custody of 11-year-old Apple and 9-year-old Moses. They have worked out a property division and all that's left is for the judge to sign off. (TMZ)
Bill Cosby's effort to put a Massachusetts defamation lawsuit against him on hold until his Pennsylvania criminal case is resolved has been partially granted. A U.S. District Court judge says discovery addressed to Cosby in the Massachusetts case is stayed but the case isn't stayed in any other respect. He says Cosby's motion is allowed in part and denied in part. The judge says in a ruling issued Monday he's blocking discovery addressed to Cosby to avoid the "precarious dilemma" of Cosby having to choose whether to assert his Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination and put himself at a disadvantage in the Massachusetts case or waive that privilege and possibly incriminate himself in the Pennsylvania case. Both cases involve women who've accused Cosby of sexual misconduct. Cosby denies their allegations. (Page Six)
The L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. opened the door -- literally -- to a gunman who pumped 7 bullets into Suge Knight's body ... and his lawyer says it's all a sinister, shocking conspiracy. Suge's new lawyer, Thaddeus Culpepper, filed legal docs in which he alleges a Sheriff's deputy was working a venue -- 1 OAK in WeHo -- for the 2014 VMA weekend when he let the shooter inside the club. According to the docs, surveillance video clearly shows Deputy Henry Boyd letting the gunman inside the club, shortly before shots rang out. The docs go on to allege the shooter confessed that Dr. Dre paid him and a friend $50k for the hit. The docs then claim the Sheriff's dept. inexplicably released the shooter from custody. Culpepper goes on to say he is privy to video shot at LAX which allegedly shows Deputy Boyd helping the gunman flee the country. The docs claim Deputy Boyd was questioned by authorities about the shooting and subsequently resigned from the department. We reached out to Dre's camp ... so far no word back. (TMZ)
Scott Weiland's widow, Jamie, says the singer shorted her by more than $60k when he reneged on a prenup deal that promised her $2k per month of wedded bliss. Jamie filed a claim against Weiland's estate saying the late singer owes her $64,406. According to Jamie, her and Scott signed a prenup before their 2013 wedding. It was cut and dry ... what was his before the marriage remained his, and vice versa. The doc also waived Jamie's right to spousal support if they divorced, but Scott agreed to drop $2k a month into a separate account for Jamie. She was even supposed to get annual 7 percent raises. But Jamie says Scott had only made 2 deposits by the time he died in December of 2015. She says had Scott kept up his end of the bargain, she'd have the $64,406. Jamie wants Weiland's estate to cough up the dough pronto. (TMZ)
Porsche Sees Big Victory in Paul Walker Wrongful Death Lawsuit. Porsche just saw a major win in the wrongful death lawsuit regarding Paul Walker and his good friend Roger Rodas' 2013 fatal crash. Rodas' wife, Kristine Rodas, filed a lawsuit against the company, alleging that design defects in the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT were responsible for the crash that killed her husband (who was driving the car) and Walker. However, E! News has obtained the court documents and learned the judge shut down all four allegations -- including negligence, wrongful death and product liability -- in court on Monday. In the first claim, Kristine alleges negligence and strict liability, citing that a "properly functioning crash cage" could have prevented Rodas' death. The judge ruled that Rodas' fatal injuries did not occur from the passenger compartment, but rather when he and Walker collided together during the crash -- something a crash cage wouldn't prevent. She also claimed the company's failure to warn drivers about the "substandard side impact protection," but the judge also shot that down, noting that even Kristine's expert said the force came from the front after hitting the light pole and not from the side. She also tried to argue there was a design defect due to the Carrera GT's lack of a racing fuel, causing a fire after the crash. Again, the judge ruled that "undisputed evidence shows Rodas did not die from fire or sustain any injuries from fire prior to his death." Finally, Kristine's last claim alleged "failure of the suspension component" in which the judge simply ruled there just wasn't enough evidence to find Porsche at fault. The outcome of this trial is a strong indication of what we'll see regarding Walker's daughter, Meadow, who also filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche. (Eonline)
Columbus Short is boozing hard and terrorizing the woman he lives with ... IF you buy her version of what's happening in their home -- which a judge did -- but Columbus says she's delusional. Karin Short was granted a temporary restraining order against the ex "Scandal" star on Monday, and Columbus was ordered to move out. In docs, Karin says Columbus' drunken tirades happen at least 3 times a week. She says during one incident he kicked down the door to their bedroom where she was hiding. But Karin says the last straw was when Columbus allegedly threatened her 18-year-old son, saying he would "whoop his ass like a man." She tells TMZ she doesn't want a divorce -- the TRO is tough love so Columbus realizes he needs to get treatment for his drinking. For his part, Columbus also doesn't want a divorce, because he tells us THEY'RE NOT MARRIED. In fact, he dismisses her accusations as total BS. The allegations could be damaging for Short, who is already on probation for felony assault. (TMZ)

Remember Jesse Camp? He's that beyond-kooky TV personality who took his place in pop-culture history -- and many a teenage girl's heart -- after winning MTV's "Wanna Be a VJ" contest back in 1998. Flash forward nearly 20 years and Camp's trying his hand at being a Page Six reporter -- well, sort of. We recently ran into the now-36-year-old in front of The Post's New York offices, and he gave us his version of a gossip report -- which was nothing short of out-there. Still rocking ridiculously colorful clothing and that signature long hair -- now falling over his shoulders instead of spiked up into a massive 'do like during his MTV days -- Camp dished on practically all of morning TV's ladies before things got really loopy. "I'm zipping it 'cause I am on a very bad acid trip at the moment and I think I'm being interviewed for the New York Post -- so clearly I'm not in my right head," he closed the interview, making what seemed like a joke. (Camp has previously said he's been sober since 2009.) If this video footage doesn't give you enough of a nostalgic Camp fix, he's also back working with MTV. The network tells us Camp is doing some host wraps for a recently launched "TRL" throwback segment, called "TBTRL," for MTV's SnapChat Discover channel in the US. (Page Six)
Tech mogul Sean Parker's family created a curious scene at a trendy sushi joint in San Francisco on Friday. A source spotted the Facebook billionaire having a business dinner at Kiss Seafood but was surprised to see Parker's wife, Alexandra, suddenly appear midmeal with a crying child. We're told Alexandra, who married the former Facebook president in a notoriously over-the-top wedding in 2013, first came into the hip restaurant so their daughter, Winter, 3, could use the restroom, returned to a double-parked Audi, and then came back in a second time. Upon Alexandra's second visit, Parker ordered her two pieces of sushi, which "she sat down and ate, even though she seemed uncomfortable doing it because it was a fancy restaurant and she was wearing [casual clothes] and UGG boots." She then exited once more, leaving Parker, who was played by Justin Timberlake in the 2010 film "The Social Network," to wrap up dinner before announcing that the family was leaving for a weekend retreat in Napa, Calif. But a source close to the Silicon Valley mogul explained that Alexandra had been driving nearby with 18-month-old son Zephyr and Winter when the tyke needed a restroom. "Any family will have times a kid will need the bathroom," said the insider. "It may be an unusual place for a pit stop, but it was a very typical situation for a family." (Page Six)
British actor Daniel Craig on Monday called for more funding for the U.N. agency that defuses mines and other unexploded ordnance, saying the work it does increases the chances of survival for people and aid workers in conflict zones around the world. Craig, who has played agent 007 in four James Bond movies including "Spectre" and "Casino Royale," was appointed Global Advocate for the Elimination of Mines and Explosive Hazards last year by U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. Speaking at the U.N. as part of International Day for Mine Awareness, Craig said that turmoil around the world created by fighting in countries including Syria, Iraq, Libya and Somalia, underscores the need for nations and individuals to continue funding the work of the United Nations Mine Action Service. "I am in awe of the people I work with at UNMAS," he said. "The energy and courage of the men and women in this organization is astounding." According to UNMAS, which released its annual report on Monday, nearly 3,680 people were killed or injured by mines, cluster munitions and other explosive devices including improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in 2014, the most recent year for which data was available, a 12 percent increase from 2013. However, international funding for mine action in 2014 was about $417 million, a $23 million decrease from 2013, the agency reported. UNMAS director Agnes Marcaillou said the agency not only defuses bombs but also trains people about unexploded ordnance to minimize the risk of injury, providing victims with prosthetics and counseling, and making it safe for farmers to grow food in former besieged areas. "Mine action is an integral part of humanitarian action," she said. Ban said he has highlighted the impact of mines and other explosive remnants of war on civilians in advance of next month's World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul next month. Ban said more than 2 million Syrians and a half million South Sudanese received training on reducing their exposure to unexploded ordnance over the last year. Beyonce Addresses "Formation" Backlash. When Beyonce first released her music video for "Formation," the Beyhive was in absolute awe. Her fans were thrilled to have received more music from Queen Bey and the Internet was jazzed to hear about a potential new album from the star. But there was a group, however, who wasn't exactly pleased with Bey's project. Some felt the "Crazy in Love" songstress was using her music video as a way to criticize police. The video for "Formation" shows footage of New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and features Black Lives Matter imagery. In Elle magazine's new issue, Beyonce addresses the backlash of her latest project. "I mean, I'm an artist and I think the most powerful art is usually misunderstood. But anyone who perceives my message as anti-police is completely mistaken," she says in the new issue. "I have so much admiration and respect for officers and the families of officers who sacrifice themselves to keep us safe. But let's be clear: I am against police brutality and injustice. Those are two separate things." Although Beyonce explains where she and her video were coming from, she doesn't back down in defending her art. "If celebrating my roots and culture during Black History Month made anyone uncomfortable, those feelings were there long before a video and long before me," she continues. "I'm proud of what we created and I'm proud to be part of a conversation that is pushing things forward in a positive way." "Formation" isn't the first time Beyonce has used her platform to express a political message. During the Mrs. Carter Show tour, the "Single Ladies" singer had "feminist" blasted across stadium screens. "I don't like or embrace any label. I don't want calling myself a feminist to make it feel like that's my one priority, over racism or sexism or anything else. I'm just exhausted by labels and tired of being boxed in," she shares. "If you believe in equal rights, the same way society allows a man to express his darkness, to express his pain, to express his sexuality, to express his opinion -- I feel that women have the same rights." Beyonce is hoping her work will help others do what's right. "I hope I can create art that helps people heal. Art that makes people feel proud of their struggle," she admits. "Everyone experiences pain, but sometimes you need to be uncomfortable to transform." (Eonline)

Step aside One Direction, Zayn Malik and Justin Bieber, Keith Richards still thinks the Rolling Stones are the best looking artists around. The legendary group were once dubbed the sexiest band in rock 'n' roll back in their heyday. At the opening gala of their new exhibition, Exhibitionism, Richards was asked how he sees himself now. "The same," he said deadpan before laughing his throaty pirate laugh. "This band have done what it should have done. In fact there's still juice in us yet." Cue more pirate laughter. As well as their musical contribution, the band are also known for their style legacy. In addition to diaries, instruments and a recreation of the flat the Stones lived in during the 60s, visitors will be able to see pieces from the band's wardrobe - including Mick Jagger's flamboyant stage costumes. "Women often have to wear things that are uncomfortable, but my stage costumes weren't like that at all," he said. "They were very comfortable. I just hope they've been cleaned since I last wore them." Tommy Hilfiger, who has created a line of T-shirts in celebration of the exhibition, said the band's influence on fashion should not be underestimated. "No one has what they have - not One Direction not anyone," he told us on the red carpet Monday night. "They're irreverent, innovative. They're hugely important to fashion. They're true rock stars. Who's the most stylish? Mick Jagger." Exhibitionism is open now until 4 September. (British Glamour)

Tom DeLonge has a restless soul, which might be part of the explanation for why he left Blink-182 a year ago and hasn't looked back since. "I reflect on it all the time. I love Blink. I started that band. I named the band. I found the members. I put that whole thing together," DeLonge told Esquire magazine. "I never meant for it to be the only thing in my life. I also never meant for it to ever not be in my life. But I am an artist, and I find pleasure in challenging myself to understand and learn, to create new types of art, and prove myself worthy of people's valued attention and admiration. It's what any artist desires. So when the challenge isn't there, then I find myself in a difficult position." DeLonge has been keeping very busy since the split, working on feature films, novels, documentaries and comic books for his latest multimedia project, Sekret Machines, which is a deep dive into UFOs and secret government files. "It's the first time we're going to be answering questions and communicating things about this topic to the world. This project is going to be something that I think could be pretty revolutionary," he said about the research he's done on UFOs and aliens, some of which shows up in his new novel, "Chasing Shadows." After secret meetings with people who have "multiple stars on their shoulders" and "multiple PhDs," DeLonge said he's learned things that will blow people's minds about an advanced state of science that includes the conquering of gravity and "a bunch of weird shit going on the moon that nobody knows about." How insane are his findings? DeLonge claims he took a meeting with a major film studio and they thought he was lying to them. "Maybe it all sounded so crazy to them or made them so fearful that they shut down and wouldn't have any more communication about it," he said. Mostly, though, he likes how his various far-flung projects keep him really busy. And while he notes that "with Blink, it was never boring," DeLonge explained that one of the stumbling blocks in their relationship was a disagreement on how the trio could continue challenging themselves. "There's a lot of downtime," he said. "And in that downtime, I was always doing other things... A lot of people are satisfied with just having that one thing in their life their entire time -- and I envy them, by the way." (Billboard)
Billboard Dance is exclusively announcing the first round of headliners for Electric Zoo's 2016 edition, which will take place in New York's Randall's Island Park over Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 2-4) with a "Wild Island" theme. Festival headliners will include Tiesto, Hardwell and Bassnectar. Additional artists will be rolled out daily through April 28 on the event's website. Coming off an incident-free 2015 edition, this year's iteration marks the next-step in the SFX-owned festival's comeback from a two-year rough patch. Electric Zoo 2013 was forced to cancel its third day after two patrons died from drug-related causes. The festival introduced increased security measures in 2014, but had to cancel the final six hours of its third day due to a severe thunderstorm. Tickets are now available here. (Billboard)
"The smartest businessman in the world should know that you have to license this music if it makes an appearance on TV with you," he tells Billboard of Trump using the 1992 House of Pain hit. In case there was ever any thought otherwise, Everlast is not a Donald Trump supporter. The presidential hopeful has been using House of Pain's 1992 hit "Jump Around" at his rallies, much to the chagrin of the rap group's frontman-turned-acoustic singer-songwriter. In response, he posted some scathing messages to social media on Monday (April 4), trashing the Republican front-runner and promising a cease-and-desist order. Everlast (real name: Erik Schrody) told Billboard he first caught wind of Trump using the song a few days ago when someone sent him a video from CNN on Twitter. Thinking more about it on Monday, he said he felt moved to say something. "This guy is supposedly this really good businessman, which is the biggest load of shit ever," he told Billboard. "The smartest businessman in the world should know that you have to license this music if it makes an appearance on TV with you, and they're making appearances on TV -- so you're a moron. And the reason he doesn't ask anybody -- a lot of people have asked him to cease and desist -- [is] because every f---ing person would say, 'No, f--- you,' except for whatever right-wing country artist wants to give him the song, and I don't even think there's many of them." There is a longstanding tradition of musicians telling off politicians for using their music without approval at campaign rallies, and Trump has definitely been a lightning rod. Aerosmith, R.E.M. and Neil Young, among others, have all demanded Trump stop playing their songs at his events, while Twisted Sister's Dee Snider gave his blessing. Everlast said he's not considering any legal action beyond sending a cease-and-desist letter to Trump, saying suing him would be "a scumbag Donald Trump move." Also, Everlast says it's no mistake that Trump and his campaign have chosen to use a song by a white hip-hop group. "That's hip-hop, man, that is black culture -- what the f--- do you think you're doing with it? He's a f---ing racist piece of shit," he said. "That's what he's trying to do: One of the most well-known white hip-hop groups... they're not stupid, the people around him. They're trying to create these inroads to people's demographic cubbyholes, so they can be like, 'Yeah, we're down with hip-hop. Yeah, we're f---ing cool.' F--- that dude. I'll smack that f---er's comb-over right off his f---ing scalp. Like, for real, if I met Donald Trump, I'd punch him in his f---ing face. And that's not a joke. Even if he did become president -- watch out, Donald Trump, because I will punch you in your f---ing face if I ever meet you. Secret Service had better just f---ing be on it. Don't let me anywhere within a block. This is horrible." This isn't the first time in the last year that Everlast's music has been playing where he didn't expect it: Last April, his song "What It's Like" sound tracked the dashboard-camera video recording from the car of the North Carolina police officer who shot Walter Scott five times in the back, killing the 50-year-old black man. "As far as my music being attached to some shitty shit this year, it's been f---ed up," he said. "The more I analyze that, it's more of coincidence than anything, because he's listening to the radio -- but still, it's like ... he's chasing down, killing the guy, and my song is playing, which is really ironic, actually, when you think about it. 'What It's Like' is a song about f---ing empathy and f---ing knowing what it is to be in another man's shoes, and he's running off shooting some black guy in the back. It's been weird, man. There are things that just throw you into the lexicon that you're not mad at, and then there's things that are like, 'Really? I could have done without this attention, honestly.'" Though Everlast isn't supporting any of the current presidential candidates, he said the thought of a Trump presidency is a doomsday scenario. Now he feels so motivated to speak out against the businessman that he doesn't even care if it affects his career. "This man is going to ruin this country single-handedly. Just the fact that he [could be] president is going to get us shunned by the world," he said. "This is like some bizarre f---ing cartoon. I don't even get it." (Billboard)
Lady Gaga Disses Fame, Money, Celebrity in Favor of Music: "That Stuff Ain't S--- Compared to Records". The singer joined John Legend and billionaire Ron Burkle at a Grammy Museum fundraiser. It's hard to imagine anyone turning Lady Gaga down these days, but she insists that a man named Don Lawrence once came very close. Sure, it was a few years back, but 13-year-old Gaga (then known by given name Stefani Germanotta) had hoped to land the voice coach to help guide her most important instrument. Lawrence is a legendary fixture in the music business who has coached everyone from Mick Jagger and Christina Aguilera to Alicia Keys and Bono. "His nephew had heard me singing at a boutique down the street," she remembers. "He called his Uncle Don and said, 'I think you should take a listen to this girl.' I went in and he said, 'I don't have any room for you, and you can't afford me. But, I think you're really something.'" Aside from talent, something else Gaga has is dedication. "I promised him that if he took me on as a student that I would do everything he told me that I needed to in order to be a great student," recalls the singer, who boasted that she still does Lawrence-instructed vocal warm-ups all these years later. Not only did she prove to be a good student, but sharpened her voice and transformed into a global superstar with one of the most powerful voices of her generation. Gaga can also spit out a pretty good story, like the one above that she delivered on Monday afternoon upon accepting the 2016 Jane Ortner Artist Award at the Grammy Museum's Jane Ortner Education Award Luncheon. The award honors a performer who has demonstrated passion and dedication to education through the arts. Previous honoree John Legend was on hand at the event, held underneath a giant white tent in the backyard of billionaire Ron Burkle's house, known as Green Acres. The Grammy and Oscar winner not only showed up, but he warmed up the well-dressed lunch crowd with performances of "Here Comes the Sun," "Ordinary People," "All of Me" and "Like I'm Gonna Lose You," the latter of which is his duet with Meghan Trainor. The day's other honoree -- eighth-grade English teacher Jonathan Bernal of Topaz Preparatory Academy in Hesperia, Calif. -- accepted his award from Ortner's husband, Chuck. Also present were CAA's Bryan Lourd and Bob Santelli, executive director of the Grammy Museum. All proceeds from the event, catered by Jennifer Naylor and featuring Legend's wine label LVE, benefit the continued expansion of the Jane Ortner Education Award program, which offers development workshops for teachers and a free online library of music-integrated curricula, as well as music education initiatives of the Grammy Museum. Back to the Gaga show. Following an introduction from National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences president Neil Portnow, Gaga accepted her award and said that "it's my love of learning music and playing music that keeps me here." Her love was on full display as she teamed with the Brian Newman quintet to perform a jaw-dropping set of jazz classics to close the lunch, everything from "New York, New York" to "Call Me Irresponsible." She turned it all the way up and received a standing ovation for the finale -- a rendition of "La Vie en Rose," Edith Piaf's classic tune about seeing life through rose-tinted glasses. That is precisely what Gaga instructed the audience not to do when examining the culture of the industry and its icons. Instead, she said, focus on the art, or in her case, the music. "Lastly, I would like to say that in the spirit of this wonderful evening and all of the blessings we have today. I think it's so great for us all to leave tonight, or this afternoon, with an inner sense of inspiration to help other people feel a genuine authentic love for music that is beyond becoming famous, beyond making money, beyond becoming a star, beyond looking like you have it all. Because I can tell you that stuff ain't s--- compared to the records. The records are where it's at." (Hollywood Reporter)

Sony Pictures has picked up the rights to an article published in the New York Times Magazine. Will Ferrell is heading to the North Pole. Sony Pictures has picked up movie rights to Ice Pack: An Insurance Salesman and a Doctor Walk Into a Bar, and End Up at the North Pole, a comedic story of an unorthodox expedition to the Arctic. Ferrell is attached to star in the project, which will be produced by Temple Hill's Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey. Published in The New York Times Magazine, the article told of a ragtag group of ordinary, middle-aged guys from Minnesota -- the aforementioned salesman and doctor, plus their geography teacher pal as well as a French Canadian with the awesome name Jean Luc Bombardier -- who spontaneously decide over a beer to mount a snowmobile expedition to the North Pole. They were rejected for funding by the National Geographic Society, and whiskey was the prized ration that they took with them, but the team overcame many obstacles and reached their destination in the late 1960s. Jonathan Kadin will oversee the film for the studio. Ferrell last starred in the comedies Daddy's Home and Zoolander 2. (Hollywood Reporter)
Nicholas Martin is penning the screenplay about a retired bus driver who stole a famed painting from London's National Gallery in 1961. As the world prepares to hear Meryl Streep's out-of-tune warblings in Stephen Frears' Florence Foster Jenkins (due for release in the U.K. next month), the film's writer Nicholas Martin has already been recruited for another comedy-tinged real-life story from French/U.K. banner Pathe. The Duke will tell the story of Kempton Bunton, a retired British bus driver who in 1961 and at the age of 57 stole Goya's portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery in London. Outraged that the government had paid $390,000 during a time of hardship to keep the painting in the country (a rich American art collector had planned to take it the U.S.), the pensioner allegedly hatched an elaborate plan that involved entering and escaping the gallery via a loosened a window in the toilet. Bunton later sent a letter requesting a donation to pay for TV licenses for the poor, but few took it seriously and, four years after the theft, he returned the painting and handed himself in. Following the trial, however, it would emerge that the version of events presented by the defendant had been untrue and concocted to protect his family. By that stage, however, the crime had already entered popular culture, with the painting displayed in lair of Dr. No in the 1962 James Bond film. The film is being produced by Nicky Bentham of Neon Films in full collaboration with the Bunton family. (Hollywood Reporter)

Jodie Sweetin Celebrates Her Comeback and Sobriety with Moving Dancing with the Stars Performance. Jodie Sweetin is back, y'all. Monday night's Dancing with the Stars celebrated stars' most memorable years, and Fuller House star Jodie Sweetin chose this past year to honor, since it was the year that Fuller House came to be. "When the original Full House wrapped, I was 13 years old," she explained in the pre-dance package. "It was a huge shift in my life. Everything that I'd known from the time I was 5 years old suddenly ended, and it was saying goodbye to a family that I loved very very much. At such a young age, it really was a huge loss for me that I didn't know how to grieve. Drugs and alcohol just sort of numbed everything. I was doing cocaine, and ecstasy, and alcohol, and all that. The darkest moments for me weren't necessarily ending up in the hospital and all that. It was those quiet moments alone when I'd just hated the person I'd become." Tonight, however, was all about celebrating how far Sweetin had come since those days. "I have been sober for five years now," she continued. "Through my sobriety I can be happy with simple things now." Full House co-stars Lori Loughlin and Bob Saget also appeared to support Sweetin. "To see Jodie come out of the dark place and make it to the other side I think she's completely inspiring," Loughlin said. "I think she's a great mom because she's been through so much," Saget added. "With that comes honesty and the more honest you are with your kids, the more you can be real with them, and I think that's her biggest accomplishment is that she's just incredibly real and that's one of the things I love the most about her." Sweetin's life changed for the better when she got the call about reprising the role of Stephanie Tanner in Netflix's Fuller House. "What a gift to go back to doing what I love," I remember my mom saying that when I was little, I had this light that shined really big and that she'd watched my light become very dark, and I just remember my mom saying to me, like, your light shines again. Doing this dance, I get to shine again. I dimmed my light for a long time and I don't feel like I have to do that anymore." Sweetin and partner Keo Motsepe danced a foxtrot to Andra Day singing, "Rise Up," and we will not lie to you: we teared up. The judges gave it a 23 out of 30, but we're pretty sure wouldn't have been able to give it anything less than a 10 out of 10. Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC. (Eonline)
Ginger Zee's Baby Boy Heads to Dancing With the Stars as Mom's Biggest Cheerleader. Today's forecast in Los Angeles calls for sunshine and one big dance party. Before Ginger Zee took to the stage Monday night on Dancing With the Stars, the new mom was able to calm any of her nerves down by spending some quality time with a few special people. In a new photo posted on the show's Instagram, Ginger joined husband Ben Aaron and their son Adrian for a little family moment before primetime. As for their special guest? It was none other than Dancing partner Val Chmerkovskiy. "A little obsessed with @ginger_zee's adorable family," the show wrote on Instagram. "Who thinks @iamvalc and Baby Zee are going to be besties?!" Ultimately, baby Adrian was able to make an appearance during the live show where he couldn't help but let out a few tears when the judges were giving their feedback. Don't worry, mommy isn't going home. In recent days, both Ginger and Val have been able to fit in a little baby time in between rehearsals. In fact, the pair was able to witness Adrian's first flight to Los Angeles. "I'm going to take a nap...I think @iamvalc 's good with the baby," Ginger shared on Instagram as her son sat on Val's lap. "#firstflight #teamginandjuice #dwts22." While Adrian is only three months only, the newborn is already finding ways to support mommy both at home on the East Coast or in the ballroom. Ben has taken to Instagram on several occasions to share pictures of his son giving mom a perfect review. There also was the "Dance Mommy Dance" sweater that deserved its very own perfect score. Can we get a 10 Carrie Ann Inaba? Watch all the cuteness unfold when Dancing With the Stars airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. only on ABC. (Eonline)
Mischa Barton on Her DWTS Exit and Tension With Partner Artem: "We Should've Had Our Own Show." "Look, Team Black Velvet, we are a very interesting team." That's putting it mildly, Mischa Barton! Through the three episodes she lasted on Dancing With the Stars, it was clear that there was some tension between The O.C. star and her professional partner, Artem Chigvintsev...and they weren't holding back in front of the cameras. Sadly, the pair was just finding their rhythm as partners when they were eliminated at the end of Monday night's show, following their performance to Miley Cyrus' "Party in the U.S.A." "It had been a really intense first few weeks," Mischa admitted to E! News' Sibley Scoles after her elimination, with Artem adding they had a "rought start," but he ultimately felt "we did our best and that's what it is." So why the tension early on? I think we're the only couple in the competition who had first tough two weeks and then you're kind of gasping for the air of the change," Artem said, while Mischa admitted to feeling a little overwhelmed in the beginning by the intense rehearsals. "I came straight out of a film, came into this, thought I was going to get this dance training," she said, "and it's been a fun experience and I've learned a lot from Artem." Still, it was an interesting journey for both Mischa and Artem, who often clashed during rehearsals, with the 30-year-old actress joking, "We should've had our own show!" But in the last few days of rehearsals, things were improving, with Artem telling us, "This week I feel like we accomplished...so much and the last four rays of training, we've done so much more in the past five weeks of training in general ,that I feel like we're finally getting somewhere positive. We're achieving our goals, we keep smiling and having positive energy in the room and that's the time you're going home." To hear more from Mischa and Artem, including which O.C. stars have recently reached out to her since she debuted on DWTS, watch our interview with the ousted couple. DWTS airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC. (Eonline)
Is there another courtship on the horizon for the Duggar family? In an exclusive sneak peek at Tuesday's Jill and Jessa: Counting On, there's plenty of buzz over whether 18-year-old Joy-Anna Duggar will be entering in a courtship-the Duggar-approved way of dating-now that she's all grown up and has moved past her "tomboy" days. "I think it's really neat to see throughout the years [how] she's really changed and grown up a lot," Jinger, 22, says of her sister Joy-Anna, who is the only girl in a steady string of eight boys amongst Jim Boband Michelle's 19 kids. "Years ago, she would have been the tomboy out in the trees and climbing all over the place, never wanting to fix her hair." Joy-Anna also cops to being less girly-girl and more of a more guy's girl: "I think being the only girl in the middle of eight brothers, I was definitely a tomboy back in the day, I was always hanging out with my brothers," she says. "But now I'm kind of getting out of that stage and trying to grow out of that." And while Jinger assures there are already a few young men that have "expressed some interest" in Joy-Anna, her brothers aren't going to be letting just anyone into their beloved sister's life-at least not without sizing them up first. "For me, he would almost have to be a perfect guy," says Jedidiah, 17. "And he would go through a lot of testing!" "I think if guys come around, they're going to have to get through a few guys-[I'm] talking about me and [my brother] Joseph," adds Josiah, 19. Chimes in Joseph, 21: "If a guy shows up to court Joy, there will definitely be a lot of us standing back a little bit, kind of checking him out." Jill and Jessa: Counting On airs Tuesdays (9 p.m. ET) on TLC. (People)
Reality TV's Hot New Trend: Kids on Camera. 'Little Big Shots' and 'MasterChef Junior,' both featuring children, are rare unscripted hits. It was supposed to be the next Survivor. In 2007 CBS placed a big bet on Kid Nation, in which 40 children were sent to a town in New Mexico to fend for themselves. They slaughtered chickens for food, set up a government and struggled to survive without adults. The network called it a "social experiment," but kids ages 8 to 15 suffered injuries and anguish in what critics blasted as exploitation. An investigation was launched, advertisers bailed, ratings underwhelmed and children all but disappeared from reality TV. Until now. Suddenly, kids' shows are the hottest trend on the small screen. NBC's Little Big Shots has become a surprise hit. Fox is riding high with MasterChef Junior and is lining up So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation for a May 30 debut. And Lip Sync Battle Jr. is in the works at Spike sister network Nickelodeon. The secret to their success: Ditch the risky storylines and overbearing stage moms (think Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and Dance Moms), and just let kids be kids. "People like watching kids, but they get scared when they think the kid is going to be competitive or tortured or exploited," says Mike Darnell, president of unscripted and alternative TV at Warner Bros. "MasterChef Junior turned the tide." The spinoff, which launched in September 2013, averaged a 1.8? rating among adults 18-to-49 in its most recent season. Although it is a competition series like its progenitor, the younger contestants elicit a far less cutthroat tone from host Gordon Ramsay. "When an adult leaves the kitchen after being with us for eight weeks, they feel like, 'God, I'm so tragic,'" says executive producer Robin Ashbrook, who also executive produces Little Big Shots. "When a kid leaves ... they walk out with a big smile." Some shows jump through extra hoops to accommodate children and avoid any Kid Nation-like calamities. Ashbrook says there are rigorous safety precautions taken on MasterChef Junior, including one medic for every two kiddie contestants on set. Meanwhile, the action in Little Big Shots is not nearly as life-threatening. Guests engage in more childproof activities like singing, dancing, spelling and even hypnotizing animals. It has turned into ratings gold for the Warner Horizon variety show produced by Ellen DeGeneres and hosted and produced by Steve Harvey. In an otherwise bleak unscripted landscape of aging hits and failed new titles, the show drew a 2.9? demo rating and 12.7? million live-plus-same-day viewers out of the gate in March, the largest broadcast alternative launch in five years. And the appeal reaches far beyond America. The show received a straight-to-series order from the U.K.'s ITV, and a Spanish version is in the works as well. Industry veterans warn that there are no guaranteed hits. For every MasterChef Junior or Little Big Shots, there's an American Juniors, an offshot of American Idol that flopped in 2003. "It's a very fine line. You cannot treat them like kids. It must be an adult version of the show with kids in it," warns Darnell, who was involved in American Juniors while at Fox. "The minute you do a kids' version of a competition show -- I made that mistake with American Juniors -- it becomes a kids' show and no longer appeals to the broad audience." Younger participants offer something lacking on TV, according to NBC alternative and late-night chief Paul Telegdy. "There's a lot of shrill, negative stuff going on in the world," he says, "and [Little Big Shots] is a show that hasn't got a nasty bone in its body." Also helping turn the tide has been TV's biggest competition: the Internet. Children have found fame online with memorable clips that score millions of views -- and condition TV audiences to crave that type of content. "Little Big Shots is like YouTube viral videos combined with Kids Say the Darndest Things -- it's the best of both worlds," notes one top reality agent. "It's like watching YouTube." It was these type of kid-crafted videos that convinced Lip Sync Battle executive producer Casey Patterson to pursue a spinoff with kids. Lip Sync Battle Jr. -- in development -- hopes to appeal to all ages. Instead of a straight competition series, the spinoff will include comedy pieces in addition to the music segments. Adds Patterson, "I don't know if I would be as extreme as saying it saves reality TV, but I certainly think it's really hopeful that the things that are rising to the surface are so family-friendly." The animated family feature from Russian studio Wizart will air on the network in Spanish later this year. Discovery Kids Latin America has swooped on Russian animated family feature The Snow Queen 2 and plans to air the film in Spanish across its territories later this year. The deal, closed at MIPTV, follows the launch of The Snow Queen, the first in the franchise from Moscow-based animation studio Wizart, which aired on Discovery Kids Latin America in 2014. "Discovery Kids prides itself with offering the best content for children in the pay-TV industry in Latin America, and we are very happy to count The Snow Queen 2 among this select collection of properties," said Flavio Medeiros, Discovery Kids' director of program sourcing and acquisitions. "We look forward to the launch of the new installment of this extraordinary movie, which is already a proven success among our young audience." The Snow Queen 2 already has a presence in more than 70 countries, and was released in North America last year by eOne. (Hollywood Reporter)
