Cave Fest 2020
Celebrate the scientific value and the beauty of caves at Kartchner Caverns State Park , Jan 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.! The day will include expert talks by cave researchers, games, crafts, activities, science experiments, live animals, and more! Visitors can see and touch real formations, dig for tiny fossils, or test their caving skills in the new cave simulator! Scheduled presentations include: 10 a.m. – Research scientist Debbie Buecher shows visitors “How Bats Accurately Hear the World.”; 11 a.m. – Get up close and meet the bats!; and 2 p.m. – Tom Kaye lights up the cave with lasers during his presentation “Making caves glow in the dark: What fluorescing rocks and minerals can tell us!” Park entrance fee is $7 per vehicle (1 - 4 Adults)
