America Ferrera Says Her Son, 8 Months, Is 'Army Crawling' and 'Comes to Work with Me Sometimes'. America Ferrera is fully into the swing of new motherhood. Speaking to reporters Tuesday during the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour in Pasadena, California, the Superstore star raved about her "amazing" 8-month-old son Sebastian "Baz" Piers and revealed that he's hitting a pretty substantial milestone. "He's wonderful. I'm happier than I ever imagined being as a mom," said the actress, 34. "He's getting more mobile -- army crawling. He comes to work with me sometimes." That happiness came with the willingness to let go of any preconceived ideas Ferrera had about parenthood before welcoming her first child with husband Ryan Piers Williams. Asked what she would title a book about motherhood now that she's in the thick of it, the new mom quipped, "Forget Everything You Thought You Knew." While Ferrera hasn't shared too many snapshots of her baby boy since his birth last May, she did share a pair of photos this week showing Baz's tiny hand reaching out for a white rose. "Idle Hands. Exactly what my Monday needed. A walking adventure in nature with my favorite little hands," the Ugly Betty alum narrated the sweet images. She added the hashtags, "#Baz," "#Monday" and "#8months." Ferrera and Williams, 37, welcomed their son in late May, she announced on Instagram alongside a photograph of her baby boy's toes. "When 2 becomes 3 ... Welcome Sebastian Piers Williams -- aka Baz! Mom, Dad and Baby are happy, healthy and totally in love!" Ferrera captioned the sweet shot. The couple, who wed in June 2011, had not revealed the sex of their baby before the newborn's arrival. Rosie O'Donnell gushes over 'beautiful' arrival of granddaughter. Rosie O'Donnell can't stop beaming about her newest role -- grandmother. The comedian-actress, 56, appeared on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" on Tuesday and gushed over her once-estranged daughter, Chelsea, welcoming a baby girl. "It was something really beautiful," Rosie said. "It's very trite, but it's what everyone says -- when you're a grandparent, it's like [having] a baby times a million. And that's what it felt like." Chelsea and boyfriend Jacob Bourassa welcomed little Skylar Rose on December 18. Rosie shared a picture of her family's new addition. But the arrival of Skylar Rose was bittersweet. She was born one day after Rosie's good friend Penny Marshall passed away. "It reminded me about the whole circle of life, and to remember every great thing that I had with her and that she really did give me a film career," Rosie said. "I'll be eternally grateful." Elsewhere in the interview, Rosie gushed over her fiancee Elizabeth Rooney, who is a mounted police officer in Massachusetts. As Rosie said, the very first night Elizabeth stayed over at her Nyack, New York home, the alarm went off. Elizabeth got a chance to show off her protective side. "Before I'm even awake, I hear (gun loading sound)," she said, imitating Elizabeth, "Stay right here! I'm going downstairs!" "She kicked in the kids' doors," Rosie recalled. "She was checking for someone. I was like, 'Oh my god! This is like Cagney and Lacey." "There is something kind of warm and amazing to be with a woman, as a gay person, that has a lot of guy qualities," Rosie said. "She was in the army for a bunch of years and then she was a professional boxer." (PageSix)

John Legend Reveals He Can't Really Swim So He Is Learning How at Age 40. John Legend is diving in! The "All of Me" singer, 40, revealed in a tweet on Monday afternoon that he was taking swim lessons for the first time since he was 5 years old. Despite the unusually late start, Legend said he's actually one step ahead of his father, Ronald Stephens, who started to learn when he was in his 60s. "I can't really swim. Today I took my first swim lesson since I was like 5," Legend tweeted. "My dad learned in his 60's so I feel like I'm ahead of schedule." Immediately after posting the revelation, fans shared their thoughts -- some were in disbelief, while others supported the dad-of-two. "Are you learning with your kids?" wrote one fan, to which Legend revealed that his 2-year-old daughter Luna Simone and 8-month-old son Miles Theodore were already taking lessons. "They already started months ago!" he responded. Some fans thanked Legend for sharing his story, as they were also going through a similar experience. "I learned when I turned 30 was tired of being worried about it and avoiding water  You'll do great!!!" wrote a fan. "Good for you! The life you save may be your own, your child's, a perfect stranger's even! It's NEVER too late," added another person. "I'm taking swim lessons this spring. Thanks for sharing your story. I no longer feel ashamed," explained a Twitter user. Even the American Red Cross commended Legend for learning a crucial skill. "Congrats! Learning about water safety and how-to swim are important at any age. BetterLateThanNever" they wrote. Others, meanwhile, poked fun at the singer and his 2013 hit song "All of Me," which says in the lyrics: "My head's under water, but I'm breathing fine/You're crazy and I'm out of my mind." "So what happened when your head was under water? Did you breathe fine? Was it all a lie?!" asked a fan. "All. Lies. Hahaha," Legend jokingly wrote back. At one point, fans even began to question Legend and Chrissy Teigen's parenting and pool safety -- asking what would happen if Legend or their kids accidentally fell into the pool -- to which Teigen quickly defended her husband and snapped back. "Not trying to disrespect U or your kids. Just wanted to put out there for general knowledge about pools, children, and safety precautions in response to someone commenting @ John slipping into pool," clarified a fan afterward. "ok I'm sorry. misunderstood but get very defensive when people question our kid's safety," Teigen, 33, wrote back. Legend and Teigen rarely ever hold back when it comes to candidly talking about raising their kids, but if social media users begin attacking their parenting, that's when Teigen's protective motherly instincts come out. "You can call me whatever you want. You can call me ugly, you can say my forehead is big, you can say my dress is hideous, but once you start talking about my food and my child that's when I get really crazy," Teigen previously told Parents magazine. Besides speaking openly about the challenges of breastfeeding, nailing the perfect family photo with two young children, and why she frequently posts "real mom s -- " online, the Lip Sync Battle host has also revealed that Legend's worst parenting trait is the fact that he's a pushover. "He will say no and then if [Luna] asks one more time, it's a yes," Teigen admitted to BUILD Series. "He's a bit of a pushover with Luna. I think it's because they look so much alike and he's like, 'Okay, you beautiful being. Anything you want.'" "He needs to learn to say no because I'm the tough guy," she continued. "It's always a thing in any household, there's always one." Though Legend may have trouble disciplining Luna -- who Teigen said is very spoiled -- and eventually Miles, there are skills that he continues to impress his wife with. "He's also insanely patient," Teigen said of her husband of five years. "He's amazing at diaper changing still." Added the Cravings author: "He gives them so much attention no matter what's going on in his life or my life or work-wise. They never feel like they're like second to work and I think he's really great with that." (People)

"Liam and Naomi were keen to keep a low profile," a source told the Star, adding: "They entered and exited the arena via the back door and were quickly whisked up to a VIP suite on Level 3. Celine Dion Slams the Criticism Over Her Slimmer Look: 'Leave Me Alone'. Celine Dion likes her new look -- even if critics think she's too slim or her style is too outlandish. The singer, 50, went through a personal revamp after the death of her longtime husband, Rene Angelil, in January 2016. Dion started gravitating towards haute couture pieces, but she said that she's not "trying to take chances," but simply opting for clothes that make her "feel attractive." "I'm doing this for me. I want to feel strong, beautiful, feminine and sexy," she said in an interview with Dan Wootton, of ITV, The Sun and The Dan Wootton Interview podcast. And her updated clothing choices came as Dion lost some weight. But she doesn't want her size to be part of the discussion. "If I like it, I don't want to talk about it. Don't bother. Don't take a picture," she said. "If you like it, I'll be there. If you don't, leave me alone." Dion now regularly trains and dances with her backup dancer Pepe Munoz, which led to rumors that he was her new boyfriend -- but she said that they're not romantically involved. "I am single," she said. "The press said, 'Oh my God, Rene just passed and now there's another man.' Yeah, there's another man in my life but not the man in my life." Dion said that she was concerned that Munoz would have trouble handling the sudden attention. "It was probably overwhelming for him at the beginning when we started working together because we were dancing together," she told Wootton. "We bonded right away as friends, we had a good time. It evolved. But when people started to take pictures and it was like, 'Who's that guy? Rene?' ... Let's not mix everything." But Dion added that she's okay with people thinking that Munoz is her boyfriend. "We're friends, we're best friends," she explained. "Of course we hug and hold hands and go out, so people see that. I mean, he's a gentleman. He's giving me his hand to go out," she said. "I don't mind because he's handsome and he's my best friend." (People)

"Empire" star Jussie Smollett didn't want to be encumbered by an entourage of bodyguards when he wasn't working ... despite an offer by Fox a week before the brutal attack. Sources close to the situation tell us ... security for the "Empire" cast was increased last week after Fox Studios, in Chicago, received that threatening, homophobic letter addressed to Smollett. We're told Fox made the call to beef up security for everyone on set and wanted to give Jussie additional protection around the clock ... but, he declined. Our sources say he made the decision to not have extra security during off-hours because it was an intrusive way of living. We broke the story ... the actor was brutally attacked by 2 men in Chicago after he arrived late Monday from New York, and made a 2 AM run to Subway for food. The 2 men -- both white and wearing ski masks -- beat Jussie, put a rope around his neck and poured bleach on him. As they left the injured actor, the men screamed, "MAGA country." Our "Empire" production sources tell us Jussie will have 24/7-armed security going forward ... at least until the 2 thugs are apprehended. Smollett missed shooting on Tuesday as he recovered from his injuries, but we're told he plans to return soon, and the show will go on as planned ... although, the shooting schedule will be reshuffled to accommodate Jussie. Chicago cops are still investigating the incident. The FBI continues to investigate the threatening letter containing the racist and homophobic slurs. Both agencies are trying to determine if the letter and the attack are connected. (TMZ)

Tyrese is furious that his ex-wife left their daughter with a friend while mom was out of town -- and now she's gotta explain herself or a judge is going to punish her. In a new court filing, obtained by TMZ, Tyrese claims his ex, Norma Gibson, left the country for a few days in early January while their daughter, Shayla, was supposed to be in her custody. Tyrese says Norma pawned the kid off to a classmate for a one-night sleepover, while she jetted off to Trinidad. Presumably, that means Norma left Shayla with a friend on her final day of custody ... because Tyrese says Shayla was back under his care the following day. He says he learned about the sleepover after the fact -- without a heads-up from Norma -- and claims that by doing what she did, Norma violated a court order from 2014 that gives him the right of first refusal in this type of situation. Translation ... if you're leaving town without our kid, you have to let me know first. A judge already said so. Tyrese is also pissed about alleged old social media posts that he unearthed from 2017 that feature Shayla, which he says is another violation of their previous court order. A judge granted Tyrese's request -- and now, Norma must appear in court to justify her actions. If she doesn't, she risks being held in contempt of the court ... and having to pay Tyrese's legal and attorney fees. Your move, Norma. (TMZ)

Ace Frehley's firing back at Gene Simmons for telling him to kiss off -- and dropping nasty allegations about Gene getting handsy and threatening to sue his ex-bandmate. The founding KISS guitarist blasted Simmons Tuesday, in response to Gene's interview in which he claimed Frehley was fired due to "drugs, alcohol, bad behavior, being unprofessional" ... and would never be allowed back in the band. Frehley says he was never fired, but quit twice because Gene and KISS singer, Paul Stanley, are too controlling, untrustworthy and difficult. Then, he really unloads, calling him "an a**hole and a sex addict who's being sued by multiple women." Ace alleges his own wife was groped by Gene, and says she wanted to sue Gene, but he talked her out of it. He insinuates the lawsuit might be back on -- Ace says he wants a heartfelt apology from Simmons and an offer to rejoin KISS, or "THE SH*T WILL HIT THE FAN." Ace shared this message to Gene along with a photo saying, "The gloves are off!!" BTW, Frehley hasn't been a member of KISS since 2002, but he did make a guest appearance on last year's KISS Kruise. The band's about to start a farewell "End of the Road" tour ... and, as of now, Ace won't be part of it. (TMZ)

The woman who claims she was attacked by boxing superstar Sergey Kovalev has now filed a lawsuit against the Russian ... claiming the 35-year-old also brutalized her dog. It's all in court docs obtained by TMZ Sports ... Jamie Frontz (who has identified herself publicly) claims she met Sergey at the grand opening of a boxing gym in Big Bear, CA back in June. Frontz -- a model and actress -- claims Sergey and a friend followed her home from the party and Kovalev aggressively tried to have sex with her. "At one point, Kovalev pinned Jamie to the couch, leaning over her with his hands on either side of her shoulders, such that she could not move away." Jamie claims her dog sensed the danger and tried to intervene -- but Kovalev shoved the dog away and then kicked it in the chest. While tending to her dog, Jamie claims, "Kovalev turned to [her] and punched her with full force directly in the face one time with a closed fist." In her suit, Jamie claims Sergey fled the scene -- so, she called the cops. TMZ Sports broke the story ... cops tracked down Kovalev and arrested him. He's been charged with felony assault and faces up to 4 years in prison. Kovalev has pleaded not guilty. In her suit, Jamie claims she went to the emergency room where she was treated for a broken nose, head injuries and a concussion. She also suffered severe back and neck injuries. The next morning, Jamie claims she saw Kovalev crawl out of the bushes near her cabin, and he yelled her name -- so, she called 911 and later got a restraining order against him. Jamie is suing for more than $3 million in damages. We reached out to Kovalev for comment -- so far, no word back. Sergey is due back in court in March to face the criminal charge. He's also set to fight Eleider Alvarez this Saturday, in a rematch of an August bout that he shockingly lost. UPDATE: The accuser's attorney tells us his client is suing for $8 million. (TMZ)
