ARE YOU A SNOB?
Movoto says if you're a snob, the chances are pretty good that you live in either California or Maryland. It assembled a list of the top 10 snobbiest small U.S. cities, five of which are in California and two of which are in Maryland. If you want to live the highbrow life with the upper crust, move here to one of the 10 snobbiest small U.S. cities:
- Palo Alto, California
- Bethesda, Maryland
- Brookline, Massachusetts
- San Rafael, California
- Walnut Creek, California
- Hoboken, New Jersey
- Oak Park, Illinois
- Encinitas, California and Rockville, Maryland (tie)
- Laguna Niguel, California
Why did Palo Alto rank number one? Quite simply, it is one of the wealthiest and most highly educated communities in the country. And as Movoto quips, they know it, too. The median home price is more than $1 million, the city boasts the fourth-highest household income in the entire nation and nearly 80 percent of the population graduated from college.
