NATURAL WAYS TO BOOST YOUR ENERGY LEVELS

(SivanaSpirit.com) Whether you are the CEO of a large corporation, a stay-at-home mom, or someone in-between, you need all the energy you can get to make it through your busy day. Mental energy, physical energy, it all comes into play in day-to-day activities, and it is very easy to become completely exhausted before you know it. Taking some time to recharge your batteries every day is necessary in order to remain in good health and stay on top of your game. Here are 6 ways you can boost your energy and have fun doing it:

Listen to Music
How often have you felt like you couldn't possibly move another muscle, then your favorite song comes on and suddenly you're singing along, tapping your feet, and using the nearest surface to drum away? The music we love brings an instant burst of energy with it no matter how tired we are. This is why it is one of the best mood enhancers and energy boosters there is. You can listen to it anywhere, dressed in anything, as loud as you want, and the next thing you know, you've forgotten all about being exhausted!

Get Adequate Sleep
Getting enough sleep is more important to overall health than most people realize. Falling into bed at night and being asleep practically as soon as your head hits the pillow generally does not make for restful sleep. Rather, the body is so worn out that it doesn't go through the proper stages to attain truly restful sleep. With hectic work and school schedules and other activities, this has sadly become the norm in our society. Even more sadly, we are paying for it with our health. Spend some time working on your schedule and making adjustments so that you have some downtime at night before bedtime. Have a cup of tea, listen to some soft recordings of rainfall, nature sounds, Native American flutes, whatever you enjoy. Make sure your sleeping area is uncluttered and that the temperature is cool and comfortable. You will find that relaxing before falling asleep will bring better rest and that will translate into energy throughout the day.

Spend Time Outdoors
Nothing amps up energy levels and moods like fresh air and sunshine. When you have a break at work, boost those energy levels by having lunch outside for a change. If you are able to work from anywhere, the change of scenery while you work from your patio will rejuvenate your productivity and work won't seem so dull anymore. If you choose to work somewhere else, like your favorite cafe at the nearby park, make sure you are using a safe public Wi-Fi connection. Spend at least 30 minutes a day outside to get the maximum benefits of the vitamins from the sun and the invigorating fresh air.

Eat a Healthy Diet
Just like your car has to have gasoline in order to operate, your body has to have fuel. If you put poor-quality gasoline in your car, it isn't going to run properly. The same is true of your body. If you put poor-quality fuel in it in the form of unhealthy foods, you will have no energy, you will feel lethargic, you can even become sick. A healthy diet will provide your body with foods that it can convert into energy and keep your immune system working properly to fight off germs that can cause illnesses. Eat plenty of fresh vegetables and reduce your sugar intake by eliminating soda and cutting down on sweets. You will soon notice a difference in the way you feel every day.

Exercise
Sounds kind of contradictory, doesn't it? Doing physical activity can increase your energy levels. However, study after study proves that exercise has many benefits for both the body and the mind. You don't have to join a gym in order to get proper exercise. Going for a moderately fast-paced walk 3 times a week for 30 minutes can make a huge difference. If you want some relaxation, start doing yoga - it's easier than you think, and no, you don't have to be flexible to start! You can find lots of YouTube videos and follow along at your convenience. There are so many ways to have fun and get the exercise you need, and when you realize how much more physical and mental energy you have, you will be so glad you got up and got moving!

Meditate
Meditation is a wonderful way to refill your energy coffers. It provides mental and physical benefits by helping the mind and body to relax and focus on peaceful, positive thoughts. When only positivity is allowed into the body, it invigorates from the inside out. Meditation can be done in a manner that focuses on a specific subject or just to let the mind flow freely and release negativity. Taking the time to treat your body and mind to this exquisite relaxation will give birth to new energies and new perspectives, and you will reap the rewards of both. While it can be hard to incorporate all of these options at once, it's important to start somewhere. Choose the option that will be easiest to include, and continue from there, one step at a time.
