Where not to pop the question? Less than 2% said not at a sporting event.
Asking permission?
47% said they ask dad's permission.
21% said they ask mom's permission.
Element of surprise?
71% said being surprised is important or very important.
18% said they were totally shocked when their mate proposed.
The groom's role in planning?
50% said you can pitch in when and what you want.
27% said this is a partnership - you should be doing half the work.
20% said you can take care of "guy stuff," like tuxedos and the band.
3% said you can look up from the TV when she shows you the invitations.
