Blue Ivy Carter Lands on Billboard Hot 100 for the First Time at Age 7. Blue Ivy Carter is only 7 years old, but she's already achieved a major feat. Beyonce and Jay Z's firstborn has landed on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the very first time for "Brown Skin Girl." The hit track from The Lion King: The Gift album is currently no. 76 on the list. The song is performed by SAINt JHN, Wizkid and Queen Bey, the latter of whom plays the role of Nala in the 2019 remake of The Lion King. Mr. and Mrs. Carter's eldest child makes a cameo on the hit by singing the opening lyric. "Brown skin girl / Your skin just like pearls / The best thing in the world / I never trade you for anybody else, singin'...," she croons. This isn't Blue's only connection to the album. She also appears in the music video for the song "Spirit." The album, which Beyonce calls a "love letter to Africa," is currently in the no. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. Of course, Blue's major milestone should come as no surprise to her fans. After all, she has some pretty talented parents. Her mom has 23 Grammys, and her dad has 22. The young star has also appeared on other tracks before. For instance, she sings her own rendition of "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing" on Bey's Homecoming album and raps on "Blue's Freestyle/We Family" -- a bonus track from Jay's 4:44 album. We can't wait to see -- and hear -- what she does next. (Eonline)

Brockhampton Return With 'I Been Born Again': Stream It Now. Just two weeks ago, the Texas rap collective announced a new album, GINGER, would drop sometime in August. The release date for their fifth set is still a closely-guarded secret, though we now have a taste of GINGER, with the release overnight of a new track from it, "I Been Born Again." GINGER is the followup to 2018's Iridescence, which bowed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. And earlier this year, group frontman Kevin Abstract took a slight detour with the release of a solo effort, ARIZONA BABY. "I Been Born Again" sees the band members rap about childhood, bad habits and big money, and it's accompanied by a grainy, black and white clip shot by Spencer Ford. A bunch of live dates are lined-up for the months ahead, and another tour of Australia will follow in the new year. (Billboard)

Justin Bieber Posts Cryptic Photo With Kanye West. Justin Bieber has been teasing new music since he announced his return during Ariana Grande's Coachella set. He's teamed up with Ed Sheeran for "I Don't Care" and hopped on a remix of Billie Eilish's "bad guy" this year, but the crooner seems to be hinting at another team-up in a cryptic Instagram post. Biebs shared a photo on Wednesday (July 31) in a dimly lit space, crouching on the ground alongside Kanye West. "Everywhere that I go it's a light show I'm surrounded bust down bust down bust down bust down bust down bish I'm drownin," he wrote in the caption, quoting A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie's "Drowning." "It's lit," he wrote alongside a second photo from the same location, this time with 'Ye and Ray Romulus of production team the Stereotypes, leading fans to believe the shots are on set of a music video. None of the trio has yet confirmed a collaboration. Just last week, the crooner subtly mentioned some new tunes when he took to Twitter to announce that he joined China's social app Weibo. "Look forward to sharing more. Some good music coming," he continued. (Billboard)

Jury to Find What Katy Perry Owes In 'Dark Horse' Copyright Case. Jurors are set to hear closing arguments before deciding how much Katy Perry, her collaborators and her record label owe the writers of a Christian rap song over her hit "Dark Horse." Lawyers for Perry and for the rapper, Marcus Gray, will make their final cases to jurors on Thursday and are likely to present wildly different numbers. Gray's attorneys have emphasized the tens of millions brought in by the song the album it's on. Perry's attorneys have emphasized the tens of millions in expenses used to make and market it. The same jurors found on Monday that Perry and her five co-writers copied Gray's 2009 song "Joyful Noise" with 2013's "Dark Horse." The trial has since been in a damages phase where attorneys argue how much Gray should get. (Billboard)
