Cardi B has compassion for A$AP Rocky and wants him freed ASAP, but she's not about to boycott a country that has shown her unbridled love ... i.e., Sweden. Cardi literally (well, almost) stopped Bev Hills in its tracks when she perused the shelves at Prada, with throngs of fans craning their necks to sneak a peak. Our photog asked if she's down with pulling the plug on appearances in Sweden in protest of Sweden's decision to keep A$AP Rocky in jail while prosecutors noodle over whether to charge him with aggravated assault. Cardi is clearly empathetic to the plight of A$AP, who's been stuck in a Swedish jail for more than 2 weeks. The State Dept. is actively trying to get him out and, with a little help from Kim and Kanye, President Trump is on board as well. Cardi hadn't seen our video with Quavo, who said he too was abused by cops in Sweden. As for A$AP, the next 24 hours could be game-changing because we're told the State Dept. is putting the squeeze on Sweden to win his release. (TMZ)

Dave Matthews Band Reschedules Wantagh Show Due to Severe Weather. Wednesday night's (July 17) gig will take place Thursday night (July 18). The Dave Matthews Band show scheduled for Wednesday night (July 17) was postponed due to lightning and severe weather in the area. After initially saying the show would go on as planned, the band alerted fans that the gig was being delayed as the area was hit with heavy weather, with officials at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater urging them to seek shelter in the venue or their cars until it blew over. Eventually, though, the show was called off and rescheduled for Thursday night (July 18). All tickets for Wednesday night's show will be valid for Thursday night's gig, if fans cannot attend, they can secure refunds at the point of purchase. The group's tour will soldier on Friday night (July 19) with a show at the PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, North Carolina. DMB teamed up with Brandi Carlile last week for a new version of the title track from their 2018 album Come Tomorrow. (Billboard)

Dolly Parton Just Responded to Lil Nas X's Request to Join Him for 'Old Town Road' Remix. Mariah Carey also recently responded to the rapper about collaborating on a new remix of the chart-topping track. The collaboration seemed destined to happen as back in December, Lil Nas X shared a video of himself listening to "Old Town Road" and wrote, "Twitter please help me get billy ray cyrus on this." Mason Ramsey said it best: in the year 2043 Lil Nas X will probably still be making "Old Town Road" remixes. But fans aren't complaining -- and neither is Dolly Parton, who just saddled up and epically replied to the rapper's request to join him for another version of the chart-topping song. On Monday, Lil Nas X, 20, tweeted at fans, "Y'all think I can get Dolly Parton and [rapper] Megan Thee Stallion on an old town road remix?" And on Wednesday, the iconic American country singer, 73, responded to Lil Nas X with a new version of the "Old Town Road" album cover, featuring Parton as a bright pink stallion with blonde hair. The "Panini" singer couldn't contain his excitement, sharing Parton's tweet and writing, "YEE YEE GANG! Parton's response comes just a few days after Lil Nas X also asked Mariah Carey to join him, and she also responded to the rapper on social media. Seemingly hinting that she'd be down to collaborate, Carey, 49, posted a photograph of herself wearing a cowboy hat on Twitter. "One Sweet Town Road!" she captioned the post. Lil Nas X quickly responded to her confirmation tweeting, "LETS GOOOO," while sharing her response with his followers. Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus just hit 14 weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their original remix of the track. Cyrus, 57, hopped on the song after the viral hit was removed from Billboard's Hot Country chart because it apparently didn't "embrace enough elements of today's country music to chart in its current version." The unlikely duo performed the hit for the first time together at Diplo's late night set at the country music festival Stagecoach in Indio, California, in April. The Atlanta musician recently signed to Columbia Records. His EP, 7, followed his self-released project NASARATI from 2018. It features Cardi B, Ryan Tedder and, of course, the Cyrus remix of "Old Town Road." (People)

Country Singer Brooke Eden Performs at Pete Buttigieg's Nashville Rally. Pete Buttigieg, a 2020 Democratic presidential contender and Mayor of South Bend, Indiana, hosted a grassroots event which kicked off with a special performance by country singer Brooke Eden at Nashville's Cannery Ballroom on Wednesday night (July 17) The sold-out crowd of approximately 1,000 supporters got a pre-speech performance by the "Act Like You Don't" vocal powerhouse. Joined onstage by three band members and wearing white pants, white boots, and a lavender fringe top, Eden belted out a 30-minute setlist including "Honey," "I'll Have What She's Having," "Got No Choice," "Call It Country," "Just By Being You," "Rather Be Lonely," "American Dreamin'", and "Honky Tonks in Heaven". Tickets to the fundraiser ranged from $25 to $500, Mayor Pete's husband, Chasten, went behind-the-scenes during Eden's performance, much to the delight of social media as he posted video from the concert. Eden isn't currently on tour but recently opened for Garth Brooks' Stadium Tour sold-out show in Eugene, Oregon on June 29, 2019 - the largest paid attendance performance in the history of the Autzen Stadium. So, what's the connection between Nashville and South Bend? Turns out it's personal as one of Brooke's close friends is from Indiana and follows the Democratic presidential candidate's campaign. When asked why she agreed to play for the political event, she said Buttigieg's message inspired her and when she heard the campaign was looking for a music act in Nashville, she was excited to perform. Following the concert, Buttigieg spoke to supporters at the venue and offered highlights of his plans for immigration, climate change, and "the security threat posted by violent white nationalism that needs to be named, not coddled." In response to recent attacks by President Trump, Buttigieg told a cheering crowd: "Lately, he's been trying to get my attention. Poor guy. President of the United States, trying to get the attention of a 30-something-year-old mayor from Indiana, that tells you something. Poor fella." With less than two weeks until the next Democratic debate, Buttigieg isn't sitting on his laurels having raised $24.9 million according to the latest Federal Election Commission numbers for the second quarter of 2019 released last week. While he's been the No. 1 fundraiser to date, his polling numbers haven't kept pace with a solid fifth place according to NYT's latest data. Mayor Pete and 19 other presidential candidates are confirmed for the second DNC sanctioned debate which will take place at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, MI over two nights, July 30-31. (Billboard)

Dolly Parton Playfully Responds to Lil Nas X's Invite For an 'Old Town Road' Remix There's no hotter song on the planet right now than Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road," and there's no finer artist walking this earth than Dolly Parton, a multi-hyphenate talent with more than 3,000 compositions to her name and multiple entries in the Guinness Book of World Records. So, imagine Dolly getting on that horse? Don't bet on it, though Lil Nas X has put the idea to the country great. Her response is all-class. The Atlanta rapper asked Twitter, "y'all think i can get Dolly Parton and Megan Thee Stallion on an Old Town Road remix?" Twitter responded. And so too did Dolly. For a laugh, the Country Music Hall of Famer tweeted a graphic of three gorgeous horses, a striking pink one beside Lil Nas X's black mount and Billy Ray Cyrus' brown beast. It's accompanied with a unicorn emoji. Dream on. Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" shows no sign of ending its incredible journey, which has seen the track clock up 15 weeks at the summit of the Billboard Hot 100 and is one week away from tying the all-time record. Dolly isn't the only diva invited to hop on board. Over the weekend, the rapper tweeted that "deep down inside i wanna release another old town road remix," just a day after a new cut was released with assists from "yodellng kid" Mason Ramsey and Young Thug, alongside Billy Ray Cyrus. The rapper put the question direct to Mariah Carey, and got an enthusiastic response. (Billboard)
