THE OTHER STUFF . . .

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to Take Sabbatical and Bring Baby Archie to the U.S. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are taking a much-needed break. Not from each other, though! But from the chaos that is public life. And according to The Sunday Times, the royal couple plans to bring their 5-month-old son, Archie Harrison, to America for the first time! According to the publication, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will take a six-week sabbatical for "family time," starting next month until the Christmas holiday. The three will spend their break in both the United Kingdom and the United States, marking the first time their son will visit his mother's homeland. With that, they are expected to celebrate Thanksgiving with Meghan's mother Doria Ragland at the Duchess of Sussex's childhood home in California, and Christmas with Queen Elizabeth II and the rest of the royal family at her Sandringham estate in England. The news comes weeks after Harry and Meghan brought Archie with them on an official trip to southern Africa, which marked their little nugget's first royal tour, following a private visit to France. Additionally, the royal couple's upcoming break comes after the Duke of Sussex called out the British tabloids over their "ruthless" campaign against his wife over the past year, during which there were numerous negative stories written about her while she was pregnant and just after she gave birth. In fact, the two have also begun legal proceedings against one of the outlets, The Mail on Sunday, over its publication of parts of a private letter that Meghan had written to her estranged father, Thomas Markle. In a trailer for the ITV documentary Harry and Meghan: An African Journey, which is set to air on Sunday in the U.K. and on Wednesday on ABC in the United States, an emotional Meghan opened up about her struggles and life as a new mom. "Any woman, especially when they're pregnant, you're really vulnerable and so that was made really challenging," she said. "And then when you have a newborn, you know...especially as a woman, it's really, it's a lot, so you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed its, yeah, well I guess." "And also thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I'm OK," she continued. "But it's a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes." "And the answer is? Would it be fair to say, 'Not really OK,' as in, it's really been a struggle?" the interviewer asks. "Yes," Meghan replies. (Eonline)

Meghan Markle Addresses Facing Backlash as a New Mom in Rare Interview. Meghan Markle has addressed the elephant in the room. It's no secret the royal has been picked apart publicly since her romance with Prince Harry began more than two years ago. The former American actress has faced a seemingly ceaseless array of scrutiny from the press, so much so that earlier this month, the Duke of Sussex issued an impassioned statement on the situation in defense of his wife. "My wife has become one of the latest victims of a British tabloid press that wages campaigns against individuals with no thought to the consequences a ruthless campaign that has escalated over the past year, throughout her pregnancy and while raising our newborn son," the lengthy statement read in part. "There is a human cost to this relentless propaganda, specifically when it is knowingly false and malicious, and though we have continued to put on a brave face as so many of you can relate to I cannot begin to describe how painful it has been. Because in today's digital age, press fabrications are repurposed as truth across the globe. One day's coverage is no longer tomorrow's chip-paper. Up to now, we have been unable to correct the continual misrepresentations-something that these select media outlets have been aware of and have therefore exploited on a daily and sometimes hourly basis." "For these select media this is a game, and one that we have been unwilling to play from the start," he continued, noting she has been vilified "almost daily for the past nine months." "I have been a silent witness to her private suffering for too long. To stand back and do nothing would be contrary to everything we believe in." While they both have since taken legal action against multiple British publications, the new royal mom has newly spoken about how she's been behind the scenes. In part of an interview for the upcoming documentary, Harry and Meghan: An African Journey, that aired on Good Morning America Friday, ITV News' Tom Bradby asked Markle how she's been doing during this time. "Look any woman, especially when they're pregnant, you're really vulnerable, and so that was made really challenging and then when you have a newborn, you know... and especially as a woman, it's really, it's a lot, so you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed, it's, um," she said with a pause. "Yeah, well I guess... and also thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I'm ok, but it's, uh, it's a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes." "And the answer is? Would it be fair to say, 'Not really ok,' as in it's really been a struggle?" Bradby tried to clarify. "Yes," Markle responded. The documentary airs on ABC on Oct. 23 at 10 p.m. ET. (Eonline)

Princess Beatrice and Fiance Attend Historic Royal Wedding in Paris. These two lovebirds may be in the midst of planning their own wedding but that doesn't stop them from taking a break to celebrate another historic royal wedding. Princess Beatrice of York and her fiance, British property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi attended the wedding of French and Austrian royalty on Oct. 19. According to Daily Mail, Jean-Christophe Napolean Bonaparte (the great-great-great nephew of Napolean Bonaparte I) got married to Countess Olympia von und zu Arco-Zinnerberg (the great-great-great niece of the French Emperor's wife) in Paris. The Princess of York wore a flawless powder-blue coat over a satin midi floral dress with a collared high neckline and ruffled hem, pulling it all together with black pointed-toe ankle strap heels and a pale-pink hat. Her husband-to-be also matched with her, wearing a powder-blue waistcoat. Can you say #couplegoals? Beatrice's look was by none other than one of her "go-to designers," The Vampire's Wife. According to Daily Mail, the royal wedding held "historic significance as the coupling is similar to Napoleon's marriage to Archduchess Marie-Louise of Austria in 1810, which was designed to secure an ally in his war against Britain and Russia and bring conflict between the two countries to a halt." But the newly wedded couple has previously said that their wedding is nothing more but a perfect love match. On Sept. 26, the Buckingham Palace announced that Beatrice had become engaged to the property developer. While vacationing in Italy that same month, Edoardo proposed to Beatrice with a stunning Shaun Leane ring that he also helped design. The two are set to say "I do" next year. "We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement," the couple shared in a statement. "We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can't wait to be married. We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness." (Eonline)

Mike Posner's putting 6 months' worth of wear and tear on his feet behind him with a big dip in the Pacific, and ya can't say he didn't earn it ... after WALKING damn near 3,000 miles!!! The EDM star completed the trek -- from New Jersey to California -- in 6 months, and by his count, he covered 2,851 miles over that period. Mike celebrated when he reached the sand on Venice Beach by jumping in the ocean. Not only was it not easy ... it could've killed him. You'll recall ... Mike was bitten by a baby rattlesnake back in August as he made his way across Colorado. After a few days in a hospital, he got back on the horse ... or his feet, albeit with the help of a walker. Mike had been logging about 24 miles per day, but the snakebite slowed his pace for a while. Still, he trekked on to complete the journey. He told us way back in April when he started that the deaths of his father and Avicii inspired him to make the trip ... and he hoped to inspire others to achieve their goals. His personal goal was to reach Cali by October, so he nailed that. If anyone deserves a massage on the beach today ... it's you, Mike!!! Forrest Gump would be proud. (TMZ)

Once he gets himself right, he'll be ready to go." As for the foot injury that's sidelined Newton for the past month ... Olsen says from everything he's seen, Cam is progressing just fine. "I think he's feeling good," Olsen says. "I think he's feeling better." By the way, Olsen also heaped praise on his team's star RB, Christian McCaffrey, saying if there's any non-QB in the league that can win the NFL MVP award -- it's McCaffrey!!! (TMZ)

Tom Brokaw accuser Linda Vester: NBC News knew Matt Lauer was 'dangerous'. A former NBC News anchor says colleagues knew one-time "Today" host Matt Lauer was "dangerous" and he was to be "avoided at all costs." Linda Vester -- who accused the network's Tom Brokaw of sexual harassment last year -- told Fox News on Wednesday that Lauer had a reputation for misconduct in the NBC office. "There's a problem with abuse of power at NBC News where people like Matt Lauer, people like Tom Brokaw, are enabled day after day by having so much power over women and the careers of women. It distorts them, frankly," Vester told Fox News. She called on NBC's parent company Comcast to conduct a "real investigation" in the wake of Ronan Farrow's explosive claims that the network was aware of Lauer's behavior. Farrow's new book reveals that Lauer anally raped colleague Brooke Nevils in a 2014 encounter that the ex-host insists was consensual. "Ronan is reporting, among other things, that NBC apparently did know that Matt was a problem," Vester said. "And let me tell you, from having worked at NBC News for nearly a decade, everybody knew." Though she didn't witness any misbehavior by Lauer, Vester said she's not buying that higher-ups weren't aware of his alleged transgressions. "We all knew Matt was dangerous. He had to be avoided at all costs," Vester said. "So, for NBC executives to say they didn't know -- I have a hard time with that." Lauer has slammed the allegations in Farrow's book as "dangerous and defamatory." The Peacock Network has stressed that it launched an internal probe into Lauer's conduct by its own lawyers that cleared execs of any wrongdoing. "It's really hard to get the truth out when the company itself is having an internal investigation instead of outside independent investigators really being able to get to the bottom of things," Vester said. Vester -- who retired from broadcasting in 2005 -- came forward last year claiming that former newsman Brokaw forcibly kissed her two times in the '90s. Brokaw has denied the allegations, saying he never made any "romantic overtures towards" the former anchor. (PageSix)
