HOW TO STOP MOSQUITO BITES FROM ITCHING
Woman's Day expert: Mona Gohara, M.D., associate clinical professor, at Yale School of Medicine, Department of Dermatology has these suggestions:
Manuka Honey
Dab a drop or two of this honey, which contains an anti-inflammatory organic compound not found in other honey, on the bite. Plus, the sticky stuff is a deterrent to scratching. Buy it at grocery stores.
Chilled Spoon
The cool sensation brings down swelling and numbs the skin, which can give you immediate short-term relief. Ice also does the trick, but a metal spoon that has been frozen for 10 to 20 minutes will stay cold longer.
Oats
Mix a spoonful of crushed oats with a little water to create a paste to apply to your bite. Oats have natural soothing properties that calm itchy, irritated skin.
